We're just approaching 3 and 1/2 years in a 22kW battery leased Renault Zoe EV and are beginning to think about making a change.

Obviously things have moved on significantly in the last 3 years, and CV-19 has impacted on both our commuting and holiday patterns.

WFH looks to be an option long term for me, so no more season ticket on the train, however I do need to visit the office once or twice a week. The other half can walk / cycle to work when not WFH.

So other than the weekly shop, a new EV is a bit of a luxury item for us, rather than a necessity, predominantly used to take us to our hobbies in the countryside or on holidays.

We're not up against the clock so can make the change at any point really, and the pace of new EV cars coming out is amazing compared to the last time we went car shopping.

Ideally want circa 200 mile range, 4 seats, and budget circa £30k. Have tested a Hyundai Kona, Pug 208 and 2008 (assuming the Vauxhall and Citroen versions are largely the same) and an MG ZS. Looking forward to the launch of the Skoda Enyaq but that is pushing the envelope.

Although the charging infrastructure situation has moved on significantly in the last 3 years and new cars keep being launched with ever more power / range, they also seem to increasing in cost quite significantly.

So, is there an ideal car just around the corner, at the right price, or are we better fishing in the pond now?
