Buying a Vat qualifier for export to CI?
Discussion
Anyone know if this works?
Saw something about this in another thread, and a friend in the motor trade mentioned it to me in passing. Just wondering if this works, and if so, how?
If I buy a car at auction thats a VAT qualifier, and take delivery, can I just insure it, drive it down to the port and register it in jersey without the whole VAT thing?
Its pretty much the only way I can see making sense of buying used in the UK thanks to Jerseys VED and 5% gst

lovely thanks chaps!
-when you say new porsche, you mean new to you or new new?
I've seen a fair bit of boring stuff as VAT qualifiers, and a couple of bentleys, the problem is weighing up registration in jersey, since anything fun is high on their VRD list, meaning about £2k + 5% GST. So needs to be a decent saving to make it worthwhile.
