Restaurants in Le Mans
Discussion
We're going to be staying in Le Mans itself and taking a couple of days to enjoy the place rather than just around the track. We won't have a car and will be using the tram system.
I know there's tripadvisor and I've looked, does anyone have suggestions for decent restaurants/bars?
My enquiries so far have resulted in;

A group of us went here in August on the way back from our summer hols, good food, very busy, and the waiting staff were excellent,

We've enjoyed a trip to the Le Mans Legends cafe the past three years but sadly it looks like it has closed so will have to find a new venue!

In town Auberge des 7 Plats
Remember it’s a busy week so you will need to book
That's our regular place, if you go round the back to the little square there's more options, which appear to serve food from the same kitchen as the 7 plats, always excellentRemember it’s a busy week so you will need to book

All the ones that we thought would be good are closed on the Sunday - do they open just for a racing weekend or is it typical France and they're closed even though there's a decent revenue stream walking past?
I would add, yes we are going next week for the classic, and staying in the centre of town so any suggestion needs to be walking distance please?
There’s more to choose from than Macd’s.
Most of the big chain restaurants are open Monday and some of them can be good
Try Trip advisor for St Saturnin or la Chapelle St Aubin.
It’s the commercial centre Auchan on the way into Le Mans
