We're going to be staying in Le Mans itself and taking a couple of days to enjoy the place rather than just around the track. We won't have a car and will be using the tram system.

I know there's tripadvisor and I've looked, does anyone have suggestions for decent restaurants/bars?

My enquiries so far have resulted in;
  • Steve
  • L’un des Sens Bar a Vins

In town Auberge des 7 Plats
Remember it’s a busy week so you will need to book
That's our regular place, if you go round the back to the little square there's more options, which appear to serve food from the same kitchen as the 7 plats, always excellent
We've booked this one and have our eye on others - the key question is Sunday night.

All the ones that we thought would be good are closed on the Sunday - do they open just for a racing weekend or is it typical France and they're closed even though there's a decent revenue stream walking past?

I would add, yes we are going next week for the classic, and staying in the centre of town so any suggestion needs to be walking distance please?

Thanks, was joking about mcds, one of our party owns a restaurant so would rather go hungry than spend money at the golden arches.

I think we'll find something. I'm hoping that something reasonable will be open in the centre of town.
