Each year for the past 8 or so, Team Langoustine have run the track on a Thursday or Friday morning.
Due to circuit activity, we have moved towards Friday, so on Friday 15th 8:30am we will meet at the TL compound (inside the Tertre Rouge' corner) and run the full circuit.
Official TL 2018 T shirts to the winner and runner up.

This is not an official ACO sanctioned run and they do not guarantee full access, but as yet we have never been stopped from running through the Porsche curves and up the start.finish straight.

So, if you fancy it be at the TL compound 8:30 Friday morning with your running shoes on.

I bailed last year, but am determined to make amends this time.
Run off with the whippets or plod with beer lovers!

9 miles of pain and heat drift into insignificance compared to the pleasure of a cup of ice poured into your shorts on your return! smile

Guys. There's a real mix of abilities and speed.
I run a 5 min per K over a 10K distance. But I will be taking it easy and plod at 6/6.5 min per K. As it will be warm and we will have beer running through our veins, maybe slower.

I am in no hurry, so will be happy to run at the slowest pace. Just join in. Not adversed to walking a bit if need be.

I'm up for this, always wanted the Le Mans circuit map on my running route history! Just one question - is the entrance to the TL compound close by the Parking Vert entrance to the circuit?
To get to the TL compound from PV, walk to the track (don't go under it) turn right. Walk about 100mtrs and we are on the right before the Tertre Rouge bend.
We are inside the GE zone, so take your race tickets with you.

Fantastic effort from everyone. There were some anal ACO staff trying to stop us at the Dunlop bridge, but they eventually relented. I was bringing up the rear just to make sure everyone got back safely smile. Finished about 1hr 25mins. That did take in a leisurely walk past the pits and a poke around the corvette display at Mulsanne corner. So not too bad for nearly 9 miles.
Same time, same place next year.

I will see if the ACO can make it an official event, maybe for a charity of choice next year.
Then we can include some sponsored running shirts

Thanks everyone, a really good turn out.

Well, I have tried my hardest with all the ACO contacts I have to make an official run possible and unfortunately the officials at the ACO consider it too difficult to permit.
There are significant insurance and logistical issues to overcome to officially endorse, so you can understand their position.
I resorted to just asking if they would give official access through the Porsche curves and up the main straight to groups wearing TL wrist bands, but was denied that as they use the empty circuit for photoshoots etc. In 2017 we ran into Tom Kristensen having his piccies taken. I may have introduced some middle age lycra to his official press photos! Heyho!

Last year we managed to get all the way to the Dunlop bridge before we were confronted. It only took a little persuasion in broken french to be allowed OUT of the restricted area (mind boggles).
So, Yes, we will be running the track from the entrance to the TL campsite, inside the Tertre Rouge bend and running the gauntlet through the Porsche curves and main straight. If you arrive in small groups, there is a better chance of slipping through.

So, 8:30am Friday morning at the TL site entrance. First two runners back after a FULL circuit will receive TL 2019 T shirts. (Worth running 13K for).
All welcome to join in as it is public roads (apart from the bits that aren't!)

Yep, done all that Mark.
They are very anti doing anything at all. I suggested a charity of their choice/in their name and still a flat NO. Too difficult as far as logistics and insurance etc.
Too much else going on around the track. Mulsanne corner car shows, Main straight photo shoots, and of course Mulsanne straight traffic.

We'll just be careful and try our luck.

Mat
It is highly unlikely you will be at the back for long!

My only concern would be gaining unwanted attention passed the pits.
Much the same as a push bike, the ACO officials maybe less likely to turn a blind eye.

I am glad it worked again. I was detoured around the paddock and back in at the pit exit. Absolute ACO nonsense.
They even posted someone in the middle of the track to stop us.
We ended up doing 14.5K with all the messing around behind the pits.

Was still a very nice way to spend Friday morning at LeMans.
Looking forward to getting to the start/finish straight before they close it next year.

I used to organize a group from the TL site on a friday morning.
We stopped as the ACO started posting guards at the bottom of the start/finish straight to prevent us running past the pits.

If you get that far, it's a pig of a detour to bypass it!
