Spectator announcement
Discussion
The 88th 24 Hours of Le Mans will take place on 19–20 September, with a smaller crowd than usual. Entry will be granted to all racegoers who have already booked their tickets (until June 29). Ticket sales have been suspended until further notice, pending government announcements and according to the evolution of the Covid-19 pandemic. In the current circumstances, the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be using its global reach to emphasise the need for solidarity and responsibility, two watchwords that epitomise the values of endurance racing and the team spirit that has reigned over Le Mans since 1923.
I get the impression the ACO website involves a lot of cut and paste from one year to the next. So wouldn’t be surprised if the dates for September are just copied across without thought.
Also, be reducing the time in camp sites, it reduces their efforts for ticket marshalls, extra security, toilets and of course reduces the possible congestion for the virus and time to spread for any infected folk.
As has been mentioned, this could all change the week of the race when most people including me will already be in France and on the way.

Going of course. Daft question.
Each to their own. Watching the whole race from one corner which could be a st one...We’re still planning on coming. We stay offsite, have booked hotels and crossings, which we’d lose out on, and only other cost is fuel, booze and tabs. Reckon we’d find somewhere to view something. Rest of time can be spent enjoying the bars and cafes around the area. As for quarantine, only impacts me, I WFH, rest of family don’t quarantine, all sounds ok.

Anyone still going? Fancy meeting for a socially distanced beer?
As in, going to be in the area that week. Whether you intend Black Ops or not.
Be rude not to. No idea what the car park situation might be, I presume they are all gated. So maybe somewhere off site, Bounty Lake, Hotel de France, I’d be up for a PH beer.As in, going to be in the area that week. Whether you intend Black Ops or not.
I’d like to think that the Hunaudieres bar will be open so the lad will be offering views from upstairs for a few Euros. We usually visit the Red Pepper place next door for Saturday night food, I’d like to say they do decent steaks but my medium/well done was blue and got sent back, but it’s edible. I wonder if KFC will be open, or the Mulsanne corner hotel, or Arbor. Sounds ok to me.

Only had their complimentary baguettes. What are their dinners like?
We've eaten there about 3-4 years, but not for a few years. They had 2 sittings, I think 7pm and 10pm, we'd go for the 7pm and then head to the start/finish for a few hours. Well worth it, decent 5 courses.wsn03 said:
It definitely rules me out. Besides as already mentioned France will impose quarantine on Brits which screws up everyone unless you're going for 3 weeks.
If they reciprocate, which they say they will but are unclear what that means at the moment, then this makes a difference. If upon entry we have to confirm we enter quarantine for 2 weeks then it does kind of hamper the trip somewhat. As it stand though, all bookings are in place so if come Tuesday of the crossing we can go, we’ll be on the train.

...WFH so quarantine means I just get out of doing shopping for 2 weeks.....
I suspect the rest of your household are also meant to quarantine not just go about their usual chores without you.Gassing Station | Le Mans | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
