Especially "To prepare for 2021, which will not take place according to the usual criteria both in terms of the number of events on-site and in terms of welcoming spectators, we must take certain essential decisions to protect our activities."

The only surprise is that it’s taken so long for that decision.

Got to be a real prospect of WEC Bahrain not happening and assume that the Dubai 24 is already off?
There's never really anybody at WEC Bahrain anyway, so probbaly the safest race of all...

In all seriousness, the WEC Covid guidelines and the Bahrain test/entry requirements are very comprehensive, so I would be surprised if it is canned.
The grid is down to 25 max... Only problems are a few championships are not setteled

The grid is the grid, I was referring to spectators. At least China buses them in on the promise of a free meal laugh

I've lost track completely.

Is it still a July to June season?

Hypercars may exist but what happened to LMDP?

LMP2 seemed to be working well - lots of entries/good racing etc - has this been trashed to make Hypercars look good?

Yes/No answers will suffice.
When the hypercars come in p2 will be slowed just like in IMSA when DPI was in danger of being beaten

According to the BBC, Macron says his country will be fighting the virus until at least the middle of next year as cases there surged past a million. On Friday France recorded more than 40,000 new cases (twice ours)

I can't understand why the virus likes old industrial cities and rural France, but next June isn't looking good
living conditions with small rooms and crammed flats... long explanation but my cousin who is a retired doctor, suggested this after she in her younger days were involved in a study in Africa about infectious deceases and their spread.

The UK Transport Secretary on 'This Morning' (Quote from The Guardian)
Grant Shapps, the transport secretary, caused a row with the travel industry in April last year when he said people should not book a summer holiday and now he has done it again. In an interview on the Today programme he said that, “on the shrinking chance” that anyone was thinking about a summer holiday, he would advise them not to book anything now - not just abroad, but domestically too.

Given that dreaming about a holiday is one of the things people are most likely to be doing in lockdown, it was an odd form of words. Here is the quote in full.

" First of all, I should say, people shouldn’t be booking holidays right now, not domestically or internationally ...

On the shrinking chance that there is anybody listening to this interview at this stage, and thinking of booking a holiday under the current circumstances ... and until we know the route out of lockdown, which we can’t know until we have more data, more information on vaccines as well, please don’t go ahead and book holidays for something which, at this stage, is illegal to actually go and do - whether it’s here or abroad.

And, further down the line, I simply don’t know the answer to the question of where we’ll be up to this summer; it’s too early to be able to give you that information. You would want to wait until that’s clear before booking anything. So the best advice to people is do nothing at this stage."

Today I had a coffee with the deputy mayor of Mulsanne, and frankly they have no idea as to what is going on. One month ago today I went to Nantes for the celebration of the 60 years of the E-type. My friend, with whom I was staying, is an ACO committee member, and he told me that on that day, Friday 11th June, the ACO had taken the decision that al camping areas were to remain closed. Saturday, I read on internet that Bleu and Epinettes were to open. In the space of 24 hours they had done an about face. Today I heard from the deputy Mayor that they are now talking about separate areas for families and others. All of the shops, bars and restaurants are crying out for definite news so they can make decisions as to what they can and can't do. Not one shop has had the poster for this year to put in their window. all the people who live inside the circuit have the right to two tickets every year for friends, some of which they have sold on if no friends are coming. But if the procedure is the same as the classic racing last weekend you have to produce a passport or driving licence and then a bracelet is put on your wrist so that you can't pass the ticket on to someone else if you decide not to go. the families have always shared the tickets so different members can go one day and others another day, but that will be out of the window.

There are still whispers, but only rumours, that it might still be behind closed doors if the Delta situation here gets worse. It is rising, with more than half of all new cases being of the Delta variety. Not numerous, but 30 per day and rising. 600 here have died of the virus. Again not really a lot it is admitted. I usually have enough contacts to know just what is going on, but no one, but no one, now seems to know where we are. The ACO seem to be changing their minds daily. No one knows, for example, if spectator viewing at Mulsanne and Arnage will be open.

One good bit of news for the future concerns Mulsanne bend. The derelict house next to Mulsanne spectator viewing has been sold by the town to the ACO, and next year it will be demolished and stands built for spectators.

I am sorry I cannot give you any definite news as to what is going on, because all is rumour with no substance. None of us here believe we will truly know until August.
that old barn was an unsual feature but the vieweing will be great from there... but when it is gone that will remove one of the questions in my Le Mans quiz

It isn't, as I understand "getting in" at all. I think it is cars parked up in the town square, that's all. I'll be there, weather permitting, with the XKSS if anyone wants to say hello, but I probably won't stay long. Static events bore me these days, but I have been asked to make an appearance. Around 11am I expect.
So I am not going to recommend it at all to the danes on their main FB group or put the event on my guide??? Ideas?
