Travelling home Sunday?

Good evening,
2024 will be my 3rd visit to Le Mans 24hr but this time i need to travel back Sunday after the race, instead of Monday to catch the 23.30 ferry from Caen.
Do folks think that its a bad thing to do in terms of how busy it will potentially be getting away from Le Mans at around 5pm ?

We’ve done that a few times. There’s usually enough time to pack up camp and grab a quick bite to eat in Caen before catching the ferry. Depending on where you are camping roads can get busy immediately after the race but if you give it a couple of hours the traffic usually calms down fairly quickly.
