Just registered with PH as thought it a good site to get some feedback.

Looking to change Mrs M's car in the near future and having trouble deciding on what to go for.
Have decided to go down the petrol route after a long stint with diesels as well as something quick with a nice burble from the tail pipes.
History of her cars from last few years, 330d, 335d, 2 x RR Vogue TDV8s and currently a RR Evoque - Really unimpressed with the Ewok, bad choice but had our reasons for getting it.

Recently test drove a 62reg RS3 and a 60reg TT RS, both a lot of fun, very quick, great parp from the exhaust and put a smile on your face the minute you get going. Gearbox impressive and seemed to give a little blip of throttle on down shift. Very impressed.
Trouble is, the new RS3 launched last year and this is a much better car but you're looking at a shade under 40k for this! However, it will always be the one I'm after. It was the burble of a 2016 car I walked past that started this whole Evoque replacement in the first place. Only bought the damn thing 3 months ago!!!!

Googling info about the RS3 came across Chris Harris on YT comparing RS3 against M135i. It's nearly like a BMW advert, he seriously dislikes the Audi.

One thing about the BMW is that it is seriously good value. Budget is about £25k which will get you a very young M135i or at best a 2012 RS3.

Just wondered what others views were? Mrs M likes the Porsche Cayman as well so this could also be a contender although probably looking at a 2009 Reg for the budget. I've also got a wild card, well wild-ish. Over budget but an Audi RSQ3 ?? Can't work out why they only have 1 tailpipe though?

So, to summarise,
What do we go for? Thoughts, views and owner experiences appreciated........

Audi RS3
BMW 135i
Porsche Cayman 3.4
Audi RSQ3

Other suggestions welcome

Hmm, wasn't the type of petrol head reply I was expecting tbh?
We live in a rurali-ish area and there is some nice roads you can still have a blast on. Also looking for a car that can pull off a swift overtaking manoeuvre when needed reducing that 'time exposed to danger' figure. Something that makes you smile every time you fire it up.
Environment...........?! Well, in our business we're shifting nearly 100,000 tonnes of product a year by hgv. It's on that basis that whatever green tree hugging car I go for it will make naff all difference to the planet !

Anyhow, I'm still left with my dilemma. Just wanted opinions on what might be best to go for, and it won't be a Prius !!!

Just watched an Evora on YouTube. That's a serious exhaust note, love it.

Thanks Dufflecoat,

Worthwhile input there. Now considering a BMW M140i - Looks like the way to go........
