Offset pedals - what DOESN'T have them?

I visited an Audi dealership with my partner today, as she was keen for us to look at Audi's as a potential company car choice.

Everything that we sat in (especially with a manual gearbox) she complained that she had to sit stupidly (in her words) close to the steering wheel to depress the clutch, but that as a result was having to twist her right knee in order use the throttle.

The Audi dealer claimed that Audi's have "offset" pedals for "superior ergonomics and long distance comfort". When I google "offset pedals", the results suggest that most German cars have this (indeed an old 2010 thread on this very site suggests that most German and French cars have offset pedals).

Is there anything A4 / 3 series size (or below, we looked at the A1, A3, and A4 today and she had right knee comfort issues in all of them) that DOESN'T have offset pedals? As my partner will be driving the car when I'm not, I'd like something that makes her driving position compromised.

She doesn't seem to have knee issues in our current car (an old 9000 with Aero seats). Interesting enough, she had issues a few years ago when I had a BMW E93 M Sport as a company car - she had lots of issues with backache and knee pain driving that car. Surprisingly, when I left that job and we got the 9000, she found the Saab seats and pedal layout didn't cause any of these problems (maybe it's because the Saab is an auto rather than the seats).

Are there certain car brands that in general don't have offset pedals in a manual?

Crikey, it sounds like most pedals are offset. Apart from Mercedes, who offset the steering wheel instead.

The Japanese suggestion is an interesting one - will look in to that a bit more I think, thanks.
