What is the most reliable, practical and comfy car for £5000
Discussion
Seven years and almost 100000 miles ago I bought a 5 year old Passat Estate Highline 1.9 TDI for £3500. I bought it to use as a second car for tip, local runs and airport runs (plus loads of European trips) and to not worry about the practically or parking of my main vehicle.
I bought it due to its famed durability, and with routine maintenance it's been solid.
Now with 200,000 miles it soildiers on without complaint, but cosmetically looking a bit rough, and starting to think about its replacement in the next year or so.
Looking for a car with equally famed reliability, super comfy, economical and practical for up to £5k. I'm not sure a 2010 Passat which is in budget has the same level of reliability.
So what's the new Passat 1.9 TDI?
