HELP....WHAT CAR??....Suggestions please...
Discussion
I'm sure everyone has a different opinion with this but I'm really after advice and constructive reasons for the choices....
In short I've currently got a Maserati 3200GT which is awesome!! And I'll hopefully never part with her, BUT as you'd expect its not an ideal every day car!
In essence what I want is a car that gives me the thrill of the Maserati but I can run everyday and won't cost me my kidney every time it goes into the garage (Maserati being more specialist)...
Criteria:
Sub 5 sec's 0-60
150 mph+
Reliable
Usable for long journeys and around town
Under £15k
Must sound awesome (even if I change the exhaust! - I love the V8 sound :-) )
I know the Porsche Boxster, BMW M's, Audi RS's etc all possibly FIT the bill, but I like cars that are rare or unusual... And to be fair theres so many Porsche, BMW & Audi's on the road no-ine gives them a second glance!!! (Sorry if I upset anyone with one but theres loads about)...
(I was thinking maybe a BMW 645 / 650, or JAG XKR ??)

If you can live with LHD, a Mustang GT. New ones are becoming a common sight, but until a couple of years ago Mustangs were 'different' and thats one of the reasons I owned several. Nearly all are unique due to the aftermarket mods done to them.
Standard performance just about meets your criteria, and again many tuning mods available once you get bored.
Reliable and cheap to run, £15k gets you a nice 2005-09 car, but check CARFAX history if a recent import
..........or a Corvette? Definitely gets the 'second glance' you want, whereas a Jag XK or 645 BMW don't
Thanks...& Nice selection and definitely not the everyday.. I do like the new mustang and they are still lesser-spotted for the 5ltr...but 2nd hand they are still well over the £15k... Don't know much about the corvettes reliability??
I did wonder about Holden V8 but again don't know anything about them and reliability? :-)

Really nice ! But an article on piston heads did state a badly locked after one can cost a fortune!! Plus they are becoming very collectible now and cheaper ones I've seen are around £17k... Good ones asking upwards of £25+....A c63amg would also be nice but fetching same kind of money... :-(. Dilemmas
