Hi everyone,

I currently own a classic mini but I'm thinking of a change. I'll have a budget of around £6000 for the car and insurance. I'm 19 and am looking for something that's mostly just a lot of fun to drive, it doesn't have to be overly powerful, especially due to how ridiculously expensive insurance is. I've been looking at cars such as Mr2, ae86, e36, non turbo subarus, mk1 mx5's, celica, sierra, ford escorts mk1-4, ford capri, anything along those lines. I'm selling the mini due to me just wanting a change, I haven't got anything against it, I might actually keep it and just turn it into a track car eventually.

Any advice is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!

All good suggestions, thanks! I've looked at insurance on a 200sx, came out as just under £3k... A celica gt was around £1k.

e46 and tt both sound good! I don't know why but when I put quotes in they seem to widly differ, for instance a 3l turbo supra was £3k to insure whilst a Subaru P1 was £9500! I have noticed that Bmw's are suprisingly cheap to insure. An E30 and E36 were both around £900, haven't looked at an E46 yet. But then with an E24 I was looking at about £4k! Then I looked at AE86s and Escort Mk3/4s and the AE86 was about £300 cheaper to insure than a 1.3 mk3 escort, I really don't understand the logic.
