Hi I have just sold my Boxster S it was 17 years old and I start new job soon with more travelling required, so thought reliability due to age might become a problem?
I will be doing a round trip of 250 miles at least once a week, mostly motorway driving. In a month probably about 6 trips. The rest will be local stuff and for fun.
I am looking for another sports type car but would like something comfortable for the 3 hour journey each way on the motorway.
Suggestions made so far MX5 not sure. Toyota gt86/brz, 350z bit thirsty?
Happy to think outside the box - any suggestions anyone
Thanks boycie 100

I did 68 miles, each way, each day - over 2k/month in a 2000 reg 996 3.4 manual. Still doing the same in a 2003 996 3.6 tiptronic (change due to busted ankle!).?Usual maintenance/service items only.
Should have kept the boxster dude
Really little else out there for the money i'd rather have ...

Started to do a 50 mile commute each day in a FN2 Type R. Averaging about 32-33mpg so far. Honda reliability. Just gotta check the oil levels now and again, but apart from that solid. Ride is a bit hard but for motorway miles its fine. Is fun when you push on in the twisties too. Plus comes with comforts you need like cruise control and climate. could get a decent one for under 10k!
I'd say try a 350Z they're a good drive & take mileage well:

Also the SLK whilst not being as sharp as the boxster it's still a good steer & in 350 form it should meet your requirements.

BMW 125i Coupe ?
3.0 straight six, just needs a little tweak to make it the 260bhp 130i engine
Will return 40mpg on a long run no problem
I had a GT86 for a while - great fun for a while but no that comfortable or refined on long journeys (but probably better than the Boxter you had in this respect)
