Two year old car with drill hole and repainted -Octavia Vrs

Hi all,
Love term reader here in need of advice.
Last week I picked up a two year old Octavia estate Vrs (from a large car supermarket) - it’s only two years old but has had a tough start to life. Bits of interior are badly scratched which should have been a warning sign, but I thought I would pick up the parts are replace in my own time. When I got home I spotted a small (5pence size) drill hole on the back sill in line with the fuel filler. I assumed it was a Gromit missing.
Yesterday I took the car into skoda for some of the panels for inside and asked them, the hole isn’t standard and has been made during some sort of repair. The windscreen has also been replaced badly and smashed up the rain sensor.
They used a micrometre and checked the rear panel and sill, it’s all been repainted as there are quite large variances in the paint thickness.
I know i can return the car as had less than a week, but am I being soft or will it be ok? The car was about the right money for the age, it wasn’t cheap. What concerns me is future value and safety.
To top it off I spent about 600 on a tow bar being fitted already and traded in a mint Golf GTD.
Any advice or experience will be greatly appreciated.

Yes exactly like that.
I know i can return it becuase you have 30 days when bought from a dealer, plus 14 days cooling off.
Reason being i asked if it had been damaged and repaired they said no.
The hold i didnt spot in time, its not obvious, plus it looked like a gromit hole. I would expect some repairs, but not the full sill - unless thats normal?

If there's a problem with a second-hand car soon after you've bought it - for example, the car develops a problem you wouldn't expect for its age and mileage, or it turns out not to be what you’d been led to expect - you may have the right to reject it and get your money back.
If you bought the car any time after 1 October 2015, you have only 30 days to reject it and get a full refund under the Consumer Rights Act.
Im not here to bicker of that, i just would like others opinion if its something to worry about.

Id assume they check it with a micrometre? it was the first thing Skoda did. Devils advocate.... How would the salesman even know it had been repaired or not? If its that obvious, you should have seen it before you bought it.

I also asked about damage repairs, and was told it wasnt in any. this isnt a keying repair its substantial.
There customer services is going to call me tomorrow, will see what happens.

Sorry I was waiting for some solid news.
Car was inspected last week.
Here’s what happened - car was in a front end smash, it’s had two new wings, couldn’t confirm new bonnet, it’s also had the enitires drivers sill replaced.
I was told by the inspector not to worry about the wings as purely cosmtetic. However he was disgusted by the repair to to sill, it’s full of filler and holes and doesn’t line up at all. I’m annoyed with myself for not seeing
He said the repair is such a sub standard he doubts it will last more than a year and has voided my 12 year anti corrosion warranty.
Recommended I ask to return.
So it’s with the finance company at the min. I’m not sure what will happen. What I am is pissed off with looking.

They can say you made alterations to the car but you didn't lease, borrow or rent it. You bought the car. I'd pursue that. Mention that you were mislead and sold an accident repaired car. I wouldn't let that lay.
The car supermarket will probably re-retail through car with the added sales feature of a new towbar fitted.
Thanks good input. I will be trying that, I’m quite out of pocket at the end of the day. I was sold a lemon. Or what I believe to be. Under no circumstances would I have bought this knowing it’s history. They can say you made alterations to the car but you didn't lease, borrow or rent it. You bought the car. I'd pursue that. Mention that you were mislead and sold an accident repaired car. I wouldn't let that lay.

We came to the conclusion it was on a 2 year lease. The person who had it wanted to move it on and spent as little as possible making it seem ok after a bump.

The case is now with the Ombudsman - BMW financial services sided with the company. But I guess when you sell 20+ cars a day they have a shared interest.
The car is in for warranty work at the moment, gear selector and rain sensor - they said the gear sensor was £900 for the part alone and has had to be done by Skoda (it was getting stuck in 4th)
Couple of questions for anyone with some experience in this though -
They have offered to repair the bad repairs - should I? Or do I keep going with Ombudsman - there is a back log they told me about deals like I am in, maybe a load of people like me buying knackers.
Also who thought that you had a 14 day cooling off period where you could cancel any contract? This doesn’t exist apparently. I was told the only way I could do this is if I paid it all off.
Also who thought if you thought you’d been miss sold, as in bought a damaged repaired car you couldn’t just return it, like all of the websites such as Which – trading standards sites say you can?
