Hi All,

1st post, long time lurker!

Current lease due to finish in a few weeks. Will be moving house shortly too, meaning my commute to work miles will be @60 miles each way. Work shifts (4 on 4 off + regular overtime) so will be doing @500 miles per block just for work.

Current lease is through a works scheme, but with various changes to this scheme it's not going to be that beneficial.

So, is a lease for 25k miles a year really going to give me value? Or would I be better piling the miles on a car I buy outright.

For example: lease seat leon cupra over 3 years with 1 month deposit at £350 per month will be £12,600 for the term. I could buy a car for @ that money and have no worries about the number of miles I do.

after 3 years cupra would be returned v car I buy might have a little value remaining.

Your thoughts would be appreciated

Cheers for your thoughts!

That's just the quandary, leased new car or nearly new owned outright?

I'm not in any rush as have use of the family bus and while my daughter is out in Oz I have the use of her, less than fun, auto aygo! So I could have a free car for 18 months. Put the monthlies away and then should my daughter return from Oz buy her something in return for the miles I've piled on her car.

thanks again!
