Hi guys,

Looking at buying one of these -

Can I get away with this as a family car, as in expecting a baby? Fit in a pram etc.

Thanks

Fg

Plenty of room in the rear, despite the looks. Great family car.
Do you have one?

He does. Love Matt he is brilliant. Only puts a suitcase in and I want to know about family life.

If you take a look on YouTube at the carwow channel I’m pretty sure Matt has reviewed it. He usually does an in-depth practicality video to go alongside the general review.

Thanks for all the replies.

It’s the first generation. Dynamic model with all the bells and whistles. Does look lovely. Thought about it as you get a decent looking high spec car that won’t eat fuel.

Other option is a q5 or Touareg. But I. Comparison the interiors are ste.

How big is the pram - have you been and looked at one?

In my experience yes they can be (in 4 door guise)
Yes looked at a couple. Wife’s expecting so we don’t have the pram yet. That’s the issue. Trying to forward think.

There is only one reason that people buy an Evoque, and its because of that badge.

Stick a Kia one on the front and it would never sell because there are any number of cars that beat it by whatever parameters you choose.
Not sure I agree with that. After driving touaregs, q5s and a LLE the evouque had the best interior. Much higher quality. It just lacks in boot size.

You could make that argument about a lot of vehicles. At the end of the day, so many factors add up to the enjoyment of motoring, many of which are not rooted in practicality, or even in reality. The OP asked if it could work as a family car, and even the earlier model will work well. Depends what expectations you have.
Tow a caravan. Which according to practical caravan it does incredibly well.

Carry me 17miles to work in stop start traffic.

Be able to cope with a baby.

Also looking decent and getting around 30mpg.

Next couple of weeks. Fairly soon really. Worried now on reliability. Send me the price if you will. the hse has been out of my range so far though.

So many better options than LR, sadly their quality is woeful. If you must have one, at least avoid the ingenium engine, it’s rubbish. Read up on balancer shaft failures and oil dilution. That should be enough to put you off.
What else would you consider?

Had my 2014 evoque from new and it's been fine. The older 2.2 with the 9 speed box works well. I only work 8 miles from home so mpg isn't great but it's been fine only doing short journeys.
Planned to keep it 5 years but tbh would only want the new model and with the spec I've got that would be ££ too much for me!! Probably just going to see what it's like for another 5 years. Still a great place to sit and superb looks IMO.
Cheers. What sort of economy are you seeing?

Been looking to lease the new generation model as I’ve managed to get a decent quote for the S model at around £356 a month with a £3200 deposit on a 2 year contract.
Some really good deals on the new model.

Even the tales of woe about air suspension are hugely exaggerated. Keep your Land Rover regularly seen to by an independent expert and you will have a smile on your face.
I’m toying with the idea of a Sport. Just so worried about it blowing up
