Audi TTS 2.0 TFSI or BMW 640D (F12) - Have you owned?
Discussion
Alright folks,
I appreciate we're talking different ends of the spectrum here. But I'm really not sure here which I should go for, but do have up until January to decide (When my current car fails its MOT spectacularly).
I wanted a fast petrol with DECENT mpg on motorways ~40mpg so looked at a TT-S that seemed like a tidy package of car. I have test drove one and still pretty keen. Can get a sub 65k miles for £10-11k
I then also humored the idea of a E or C350 CGI as there were a couple available at one point, with high spec (pan roof, uprated sound system). But increasingly unlikely I will go back to Mercedes for my next car, so not really keen on that.
I then randomly came across a F12 high spec 640D and now have become interested in that as sometimes they come up at good value around £10-11k sub 70k miles. Seems like a lot of car for the money, twin turbo diesel, with stock 308bhp and 0-6 sub 6 seconds in a car that big?
Please let me know your opinions if you have had either car!

Thanks! Which one did you have first and surely you would be more OK with a bad ride in a TT-S than a 6 series? Also does the 640d actually have a lot of space? I was in the series before the f12 and aside from a decent boot, you couldn't fold seats down and so was quite tight in the back?

You'll get sub-30mpg most likely.
There's a nice looking example advertised in Warrington, but IMO they want too much for it. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010014...
It's been up for a few weeks now, go bid them hard.
st is it that bad in them? Thanks for the details but I wanted to avoid the DSG, people have scared the st out of me about them! There's a nice looking example advertised in Warrington, but IMO they want too much for it. https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010014...

I'd go for the E350cdi:

So I've been going round the houses a bit whilst I continue to save towards biting on a purchase. I know I was strongly considering a 640d however the equivalent petrol wasnt even in price range and would be horrible on economy. I have 2 questions, why would you go CDI over CGI and also what about the C350 CGI??https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202010094...
