Hi all

I am looking to buy an Audi Q7 for around the £30k mark so looking at 16/17 plates with 35k to 45k miles. I will be going for the S Line model but not sure which options to go for. I want the cockpit and air suspension and the wife just wants the pan sunroof. Also is it worth going for the 272 or 218. The main issue is that buying one with a sunroof adds £££ and I am not sure it adds anything. The wife thinks it will add a lot of light in the car, especially for our children in the rear 2 seats. Anyone have any experience with Q7s of this age with or without sunroof and the other options? Are they worth having?

Thanks in advance

She's right and you're wrong. That's why it adds £££...because it's highly desirable.
Thanks - I will frame this and give it to her on our next anniversary.

Big glass roofs do make them feel bright inside when Audis are typically black and dark inside, the only other advice i would give is make sure you get a decent warranty and keep it up.
Thanks - I am planning on buying from an approved dealer so will get 12 months Audi warranty. I can then look at AA etc if I want it for longer.

It's really funny, each to their own and everything, but I could never imagine spending £40k on a used Audi, and especially a Q7. <shudder> Yuck.
Crack on though, if it makes you happy.
I'll be spending c£30k but I need a 7 seater and only the Q7 and the Discovery have enough Isofix points for the kids.

Hey OP, i recognise your challenge. I’m also just too damn sexy to the wife and we have five kids. I assume the Disco has been discounted for reliability reasons?
Haha. Yes and also it’s boot with all 7 seats up is even smaller than the Audi.

So I’ve ordered a 2017 Q7 272 with Pan Sunroof, Cockpit, Reverse Camera and Air Suspension. My only slight concern is the 22 inch wheels. Given the air suspension I’m expecting the ride to still be smooth? Anyone have any experience of this?
