Have been having thoughts of upgrading my 2017 Mustang GT to a new one, so i can have a brand new NA V8 before they are extinct.

Having just spoken to a salesman at a ford dealer, he is going to get a quote back to me, with my 2017 as PX.

For sts and giggles, i just put it into WBAC, and absolutely astounded they are offering £27K!! i only paid £30K for it 2 years and 24K miles ago!

I was expecting £20K max from them!

I know they will knock money off for every speck of dust, but this sounds very top money!

Am now very interested in what ford come back to me with on PX value.
Its a 2017, in Triple yellow, auto, 42K, FSH, custom pack 2.
Any guesses on what the dealer is likely to offer?

The used car market is insane at the moment. CAP figures back up their offer.

£28k sounds a better number though.
Thanks, that sounds very encouraging, if i can get a PX anything like this, i will certainly go ahead with an upgrade!

Out of interest that CAP valuation shows milage of 24K, what does it say for 42K if you don't mind?

Also they are suggesting it would be 6 months for a factory order, what happens with the PX, do they take it straight away? as the value could be very different in 6 months!

Hmm, on the ford website:

Right now, and until 30Jun2021, we are offering top prices for any Ford cars up to 10 years old. We'll even offer £100 more than a 'We buy any car' valuation for the same vehicle.*
And there’s never been a better time to get in touch. Following the recent announcement, the global shortage of semi-conductors is now starting to affect vehicle manufacturing.
What are semi-conductors?
Semi-conductors are materials that partially conduct electricity and are used to control the flow of electrical current in devices we use regularly, from phones to TV’s. Semi-conductors are critical in vehicle manufacturing, essential for technology such as driver’s assistance, connectivity, electrification and vehicle safety.
As this shortage starts to impact the automotive industry, we don't want you to miss out if you’re looking for a new vehicle. There will be fewer available in the coming months meaning right now you'll not only get a great price on new vehicles we have in stock but you'll also get a top price for your Ford car or van if you decide to sell.*

And the Asterix is:
Terms and Conditions

  • £100 offer valid from 26.04.2021 – 30.06.2021 when you sell or part exchange a Ford car with written proof of your vehicle’s valuation from We Buy Any Car within the last 14 days. Applicable to Ford vehicles only up to 10 years old with less than 90,000 miles.

Well seems as its such a wait for a factory build, i have managed to find a dealer with a 21 plate "Pre Reg" in very nice spec:
Twisted Orange
Custom Pack 2
Rear Spoiler
Magna-Ride

Up for £46,600, which seems pretty good value since its available. They have provisionally offered me £26K PX for mine which doesn't seem too bad, as i know WBAC will find bits to knock off the £27K!!

Have paid a £100 holding deposit, and am off to have a discussion tomorrow!!

Shame its in sodding Peterborough, which is a 3H drive!

Ford have an offer on at the moment that is guaranteed £100 more than WBAC, worth hunting down online for the details.
Unfortunately, that offer is not Ford themselves, but Trust-Ford. So is only applicable at Trust-Ford dealers.

Ah TCH ford they always used to be way out on price.
They where very reasonable (the least pushy dealership i have ever used!), they knocked £100 off for a very badly curbed wheel, which was fair enough. They found some corrosion just starting to bubble on both front wings - which they agree'd they attempt to claim from ford as full ford service history.
They were not interested in any stone chips etc, as its a used car!

So have offered £25,900 for mine which i am happy with. I suspect WBAC would have knocked it back to at-least this figure anyway.

Just waiting for the finance to get accepted (the wait is excruciating!), then this baby will be mine!

Well i completed on the new Mustang the other day, and loving my new toy driving

I see the dealer has already put my PX up on their website for £30K, so if it sells for this the buyer will have paid the same as i did 2 years and 26K miles ago!!

Was quite impressed with the dealer who managed to tax the car for 12 months + 1 week, so that i didn't loose the first months part of the £2300 1st year's car tax! Was not aware this was possible, apparently only dealers car request it.

And both next to each other smile
