I would've posted this under the MG section but that appears to be slow moving and about classic MG's and this is a question on the new Chinese built MG.

My daughter is thinking about buying a ZS 1.0 manual or auto. It seems a whole lot of car for the money and there are a lot of MG's on the road these days. Has anyone got any ownership experience of them, is this a bad idea?

Can't help wondering if she could be buying a whole lot of trouble even though I appreciate no car is without faults.

thanks

Basically its working flat out to move the thing so low 30's realistically.
You and I have very different definitions of a car being thirsty hehe
I cant see low 30's from the 1.0, the old tech 1.5 is reportedly low 40's on honestjohn. Driven sensibly on a mixed cycle I'd expect to get 40-45mpg from the manual.

The 1.0 auto is seemingly mid 30's so again expect better from a manual, at least driven sensibly.
Brochure quotes 42.7 but take that with a pinch of salt!
