Previous Jersey Registered Car
Discussion
I wonder if I could pick the collective brains of the Pistonheads collective.
I've just sold my car and I've found a 2007 Audi A4 Avant, 114k, very close to me for sale and agreed a price with the current owner for £2k.
Partial history including a cambelt 5 years ago.
My main query is that it was originally registered in Jersey and onyl came over a year or so to England, no MOT history except for the current one, nor against its previous Jersey registration. There was apparently no requirement until Brexit to have an MOT for Jersey registered cars.
Do I just take the gamble, as worse case its only £2k and seems in good condition or do I listen to me being cautious and walk away?
I'll probably have the same questions from any seller should I wish to sell it on in a year or so...

It's a £2k 100k mile car.
What exactly are you expecting? Full main dealer service history, 12 months unlimited mileage warranty, full tank of fuel and a new set of Michelin Pilot Sports?
I think you need to manage your expectations. It's shed money.
Thanks Jordie, I think I was more surprised initially that Jersey didn't have an MOT requirement or similar... perhaps its more that laid back approach...What exactly are you expecting? I've had plenty of sheds and enjoy the challenge of keeping one on the road and for as long as possible and for little money..
