Just got back from Silverstone having tried out the fun cup car for the day. It's a single seater endurance racer. Looks like a beatle, but gives the likes of me and a few mates the chance to race for a season in a dedicated fun cup series endurance races around the country (6 in total) What we liked is the cars are all pretty much the same and for a small budget (in racing terms) we drive, they ferry and fix, fuel and set up.
Just wondering if any of you have looked at or considered this?? We all know the money sapping ability of motor racing (owning a Noble ) but this seems a good place to get a feel......any thoughts???

one of my customers runs the fun cup and i have tuned a few of the cars in the past
did you drive the 1.8 n/a or the diesel turbo engine ?
We were out in the petrol. Apparently all engines and gearboxes are sealed, is there much you can tune?? What would be the gains? Cheersdid you drive the 1.8 n/a or the diesel turbo engine ?

Quite a few gains can be made. You can adjust jets, ign timing, vacum advance and cam timing. Cam timing makes a big difference. Did you hire the cars from jpr?
Yes, Paul seemed a great chap. So much for a level playing field using sealed engines, we were told the engines dyno'd at +\- 8hp. I guess it's after that you can tinker!! May have to give you a shout. Taken from their site:
The cars are race designed, single-seaters, with super-strong space frame chassis. They are powered by an 1800cc, 130 bhp VW/Audi petrol engine, with a 5 speed gearbox, or the more popular Sadev sequential. Some cars run with a 1900cc TDI, 170 bhp Audi engine. They all feature race brakes and fully adjustable suspension.
