The Model 3 EPA document says the battery can accept DC current up to 525A from an off?board charger (Supercharger).
That'll allow at least 175 kW charging for the Model 3 with the current batteries.

The Model Y could (probably will by production time) have better chemistry still and 400v (or higher) batteries so I reckon the reveal on the 14th may mention at least 200 kW charging for the Y.

Either way....technology is evolving quickly.... Surely only those with hidden agendas would decry it..?

You think the Model X is the pensioner version of the Model S? Do you know many owners of both?

I know plenty of both. I'd average an estimate that Model X owners are c20yrs younger than Model S drivers.


I also very very very seldom see an obvious pensioner in an SUV. I can't help but thinking your OAP/SUV assumption is very wide of the mark. Having seen 100s of Model 3s, driven one, and been passengered in approaching a dozen others, it is the most 'pensioner' car in the range IMO.

I don't think the wheels need to be bigger, but maybe it could have done with a bit more tyre side-wall. I think the non-dark wheels look better.

The bulk of people that are criticising it's looks are either anti-SUV types, or and-EV types. This has double-hatred from people that care so little about EVs/SUVs that they can't help but swarm over every post.... Elsewhere, the Y will almost certainly be Tesla's biggest seller....but those with chips on their shoulders will never like it.

I can't think Elon is losing much sleep over them

The 3 is by far the better value, oh and it can be parked in a normal car park. But the S, with the price hike, you would hope is far superior (but every S I've been in has rattled like Audrey Hollanders arse post shoot)

Don't knock a heated steering wheel until you've lived with one for a few years.....!
