Model 3 UK orders.
Discussion
So lots of posts on Tesla Model 3 order page opening in UK but as usual loads of talk about not much action.
Might be useful to have a section for those who have actually ordered and waiting delivery....

Ok two things worry me already about refund policy.
Order confirmation states
"If you haven't test driven the car, don't worry, you can return it within 3 days of delivery." Website states 7 days.
Also refund policy states vehicle must not
been the subject of any submission or application for any available incentives or perks;
Does the grant count as incentive? What about BIK etc?
People have returned them with no issues in states and here in the UK. Your get what you paid back.Order confirmation states

Wow - I think I'm out - reasonable spec and £50k instead of the expected £35k......has anyone tried to get their £1k deposit back yet, and if so was it easy ?
Just login to your account and click the refund button.Takes about 2 weeks for the money to be returned, I did about 12 months ago, no hassle at all.

Should have also mentioned.....my boss who has also just ordered a 3 phoned Tesla UK to discuss the order. He was told that the first deliveries are unlikely to be June, more likely to be July for those that were earlier reservation holders.
Thanks for the update, I think the Tesla UK website went down for a bit today so I would assume orders are been made.Either way quite excited to try a RWD Tesla drive train in something smaller than a dinning room .

The email says 3 days. Website says 7 days.
I really wouldn't worry, if your one for reading meaning into every letter your go nuts owing a Tesla. Specs/orders/features change all the time, and often with no written confirmation.I still don't know if anyone is actually paying for 'connectivity' as am sure when the original S was launched unless you had the tech pack that was only a subscription service?? Back 2014 seems like Victorian times when it comes to Tesla spec/orders .

Thats exactly my point. That price you say is after the grant has been deducted (£3500) but the base price is still £42400 for DVLA
Again can we keep this thread to posts on actual car orders and than deliveries rather than get clogged up by the usual hot air around Tesla.SWoll said:
Indeed. I will say though I'm a little nervous about handing over the £3k or so 'deposit' required to get on the list for the M3 LR after being messed about so much around iPace availability (which is the car I really want at the end of the day).
There are now 150 iPaces for sale on AutoTrader, nearly 10% discounts on all versions S up to First Addition, and virtually appear to be low millage ex-demo/pre-reg cars, so if you really want an iPace I would say your spoilt for choice. The Model 3 deposit was only £2K for us, and also it got refunded within 10 days of us cancelling the order.
If you haven't ordered, just wait for the first boat road to arrive, and pick up a cut price inventory car (probably with free for life SuperCharging) when end of Q2 push really starts.

Its really odd - I suspect this may be a case of "we've shipped lots of performance cars so that's all we're offering to sell so we actually sell everything we ship before quarter end"
And all with black premium interior, I can see some good inventory discounts coming for these cars. £60K with FSD option, £50K post discount? Saw a Model 3 in real life for the first time today, have to say the dimensions look really good in real life, much better than in photos.
May well end up reordering one....especially if white paint is going to be the 'free' opion and AWD has to be 'P' version
You guyes getting waiting on orders must be getting excited!

Reliabilty, build quality, paint faults, cars catching fire, suspension failures, blah, blah, blah. It's been done to death on here mainly by people who had no intention owning a Tesla or just can't get their head around the whole EV thing..
When I get sometime am going to do a comparison of our Lexus versus the Tesla ownership experience, since both have now coming up to 26k, both owned from new, and both in the same market segment.Short version is my wife is teetering on the edge of reconfiguring a Model 3 order .

Will be interesting to see how long before the can jailbreak Tesla’s
It's already been done, but the guys who can do it are very quite these days, I presume Tesla have lawyers camped at their door steps. All the cars also are 'live' on the Tesla system, they can tell if a car is running modules/software it shouldn't and they can easily disable things and block access to Tesla Supercharger/software updates.
As the cars get older Tesla may not care as much though.

Perhaps you can point out the flaws in the test? It looks pretty reasonable.
https://www.whatcar.com/news/what-car-real-range-h...
The Whatcar 'test' cycle is the only 'real world' test I've seen that essentially puts the iPace nearly top for range, only 6 miles short of the Kona EV.https://www.whatcar.com/news/what-car-real-range-h...
May be its just a coincidence a UK based consumer lobby group has designed a test that seems to show a Jaguar as been top of the class, or is it just plain old nationalism?
Anyone who actually thinks an iPace in the real world has as much range as a Kona EV has never driven an EV.

Scruffy buggers, most Tesla drivers I've met. Would be interesting to see stats on how many Tesla owners rarely wear a suit or a rolex, vs other brands. I bet it's light and day. Just a thought.
Probably the best complement I've heard anyone say about a companys customer demographic.Edited by Sambucket on Thursday 5th September 20:08
I have an inherent distrust of anyone who spends too much time on their appearance- both male and female.
Time is money, and anyone who has so much of it to waste on personal appearances cannot have anything that important to do as a job .

Ordered mine via a lease deal on 3/9
Delivery booked for 26/9
White with black performance model

I don't think it'll be long before P cars are available from stock with 1 week delivery. There's only a that many people who can afford to splash our near £60k on a small saloon regardless of 0-60 time.Delivery booked for 26/9

Am surprised 'free for life' supercharging hasn't been applied to P Model 3s yet.

Yeah it's awesome, need a lot more time playing with settings lol.
Feels more solid than I expected, screen seems smaller, steering wheel is chunky really nice. Seats are ace.
Enjoy the car, Tesla have issues but the cars are fantastic, despite our X currently been sat a service centre I would still buy another one today.Feels more solid than I expected, screen seems smaller, steering wheel is chunky really nice. Seats are ace.

To say it's quick is an understatement, I so wanted to like the car but I couldn't live with the seats.
Surely any car seat is more comfy than any seat found on a DuraAce spec machine.M3 (or any new car) is off the menu for us till the house is done, also looking to cut down miles on the car and get healthy....but as am now an old man makes sense to stick to the EV theme.
Haven't looked at prices for these things for a while, especially the EV versions, thought this looked nice, than I saw the price!! And people think car EVs are overpriced .
