Model Y boot load capacity 60kg limit?

Been reviewing the Model Y manual and planning to go view one this weekend, but the following has me concerned:
Never load more than 130 lbs (60 kg) on the rear load floor (above the lower trunk compartment) or more than 285 lbs (130 kg) in the lower trunk compartment. Doing so can cause damage.

All reviews rave about how many suitcases can fit in the boot of a Model Y, but the 60kg limit seems very low. My kids often sit in the back of my car with my dog to eat picnics when out and about. The dog is 38kg so this wouldn't be possible. Even the dog and a suitcase would be over the limit. Does anyone know if this is just Tesla covering themselves, or is the floor really that weak?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding what they class as upper and lower, but I read it as the cubby hole under the boot was the lower level which I don't believe will hold even one suitcase (I'll be able to confirm when I go view one), and the upper the main boot quoted as 800+litres. 60 kg is only a couple of cases. This isn't mentioned in any of the reviews stating how practical the car is

I don't believe there to be a parcelshelf available for the UK Y. I'll ask some questions when I go at the weekend, just seemed odd. All my cars have had storage of some sort under the boot even if just for the spare wheel and none have had a limit I have known about.

Something like a suitcase wouldn’t put all that weight in the middle of the false floor in an unsupported area. It’s a non issue in that sense.

You might however want to check the total weight the car can carry including passengers. I recently heard in an video it was only 400kg which is likely to be exceeded with 4 adults going on holiday. I’ve not looked into whether that’s good or bad if true, but I did but 12 bags of sand and soil in the back of ours the other day, plus two adults, bet we were close.

As with most things Tesla it appears to be utterly confusing and inconsistent..

They'd have to be 4 decent size adults BTW. At 12 stone each you'd still be left with 100KG spare for luggage if the limit is 400KG. Probably more of a concern in the US?

Apparently the UK Y has a total limit of 565 and the US one 380. I'm going to confirm all these things tomorrow when I get to the dealer and check a few other concerns have. Cheers all for your comments and advice

So the tesla dealer in Leeds said he knew nothing of any weight limits (even when I said they were in the manual) but agreed they seemed stupidly low. He did keep saying we haven't had them long as the answer to alot of my queries. I'm still very tempted, and just need to decide if I can make it work for my requirements.

It does amuse me that the Tesla.com fuel saving comparison uses 13mpg as the comparison figure. Even my Wrangler does twice that. Also noticed the 0-60 quoted for the performance subtracts the "first foot of rollout" . I believe this is about 0.3 of a second. I know 3.8 to 60 is quick, but not the 3.5 they imply.

I think I'm correct in saying the 800 is to the roof where as your 600 is to the window line. Landrover do the same and give figures to the roof hence an evoque appears to have a decent boot size on paper. This is based on what I've ready so may well be rubbish
