Bloody thing's started flashing on daughter's car. Limited searches on the subject, but a couple come up with loose connections under the seats. Had a quick look and jiggle about but can't see any problem under there frown . Before I get bent over by Toyota (it's out of warranty), any Aygo/C1/107 owners had similar and managed to resolve? TIA

That's what I was talking about Fastra, duff connection (cheap), new ECU (bent over). Just wondered if anyone had come up with a different solution.

A few people suggestion disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes to clear the fault -worth a go?
yeah, battery was something I was thinking about trying over the weekend. Worringly , I read somewhere else while looking for a solution that warning lights for stuff like air bags constitutes an MOT failure since he beginning of the year frown

Update from weekend. Took car in for its service and MOT, had the vaseline in my pocket ready smile . Nice service chap came back after about five mins to tell me they'd managed to clear the fault , thought it might be caused if the battery was a bit on the low side (daughter has a habit of switching lights on before starting car). ECU detects slightly low voltage during its startup checks and disables air bags. Said later Aygo models had a ten second delay before running the checks.

As an aside, he told me that the MOT tester said that the airbag light problem wouldn't be an MOT failure anyway. In his words "it's not a vehicle saftey feature, unlike something like anti-lock brakes or stability control". Didn't seem to make sense to me, but wasn't about to argue. Thought about it later and I can see a difference though, airbags are purely passenger safety, the fact they won't deploy doesn't make you a danger to road users or pedestrians.
