I am looking at low mileage IQs around 60 / 14 plates and wondered what the requirement is for the chain ( I'm sure it is chain ) to be replaced - is it 10 years?

Anyone know of any horror stories?

Most haven't had this done so I am wondering what leverage there is with my prices etc.

Thanks

The engine does have a chain, but there's no replacement schedule, its fitted for the life of the engine providing its serviced properly.

Interesting - thanks, do you happen to know what those service requirements are? Should it be documented anywhere?

By servicing i think what was meant was just routine servicing i.e. oil changes.

If the chain is quiet i wouldn't worry about it - both the 1.0 and 1.33 have a pretty good reputation.

Standard Toyota schedule which is 1yr/10,000 miles for the Intermediate, then 2yr/20,000 miles for the Full service.
