Delivery Delay on my new Alpine
Discussion
Hi folks, I've been waiting to post when my new car got delivered but not sure now when that will be.
Anyone else been told that delivery of their Alpine is being delayed?
Looks like my car got as far as Bristol but is now being sent back to the factory.
Ryan (at Alpine Manchester) contacted me to let me know.
Issue appears to be related to a potential issue with "non-compliant" floor mounts?
Is that the seat mount? Any thoughts?

Had a read via Google translate on the French forums and it appears this may actually be a structural issue with a certain batch of cars impacted.
Looks like they are being returned to the factory to be stripped and rebuilt....

From the letter Tim at Solihull was asked to send me…
“Your Alpine centre will contact you from the 20th of March 2023, to inform you of the provisional delivery date of your vehicle”.
So watch this space I guess. I’m glad their QA has picked up the potential safety related issue but a bit of a shame it took them the whole of February to decide the car needed to go back to Dieppe having sat around being held in the UK somewhere (Bristol?). If they have to strip it and rebuild it and then re transport it I’m going to be going over it with a fine tooth comb on the (probably misguided) assumption that cars are generally harder to dismantle and then reassemble to factory fresh than they are ‘just’ to assemble on the line the first time round.
Same as the letter I got from Ryan.“Your Alpine centre will contact you from the 20th of March 2023, to inform you of the provisional delivery date of your vehicle”.

So... latest update is that my car won't be back at the factory until the 19th April.
On the French forums they are saying three weeks at the factory before any new delivery date.....
Not sure how I feel but I will need to know what they did before I accept the car.
I ordered mine with the "expensive" option Lime Green paint and worry about all this moving the car around so I'll be going over the body work too when I see the car.... sigh.
Having had multiple TVRs and Lotus's I understand the low volume car issues but still....

Has anybody else still waiting for their car heard anything? I’ve still had the sum total of sweet FA from either the dealer (post Tim) or Alpine. I’ll give it until the end of May and then start thinking about a possible cancellation and deferral until next March. At this rate it could be a September delivery and I won’t get much use out of it over the Autumn and Winter. They might even have bits of carbon back in stock by then! I hear A110R owners are having to wait even longer, potentially related to Carbon wheel availability.
I spoke to Ryan (in Manchester) and he wasn't able to give me an update. Edited by Stuey110x2 on Wednesday 3rd May 21:25
Many years ago I worked in logistics and know that as soon as an "item" is scanned into the system it is traceable..... so WHY don't they know where the car is and what stage in the process its at?
And importantly what, if any, work does it need.... and when can I expect delivery? FFS

I've received info that my A110 can be (again, as it used to by at my dealership but was sent back to the factory) picked up. It was total over 4 months of delay as it was build at the beginning of February.
Alpine didn't offer me anything and didn't give any official info, it's just like "oh yeah it's arrived delayed by 4 months but you should be happy we're going to still sell it to you" so I'm thinking about cancelling my order though. It's not about their attitude but I'm also concerned about quality of that specific car (unknown storage condition, unknown repairs that have been done, unknown damage that has been done during those procedures and so on), such rebuild and delay seems like a huge lack of competence. I'm a bit afraid I'm going to pay full price for something that might spend another 4 months waiting for fuel pump replacement or something like that.
I think I'm going to wait for others to pick their cars and wait for feedback if they are any good.
I understand, I'm not sure how much longer I am willing to wait and I'd like to see a goodwill gesture (or more) from Alpine for this mess.... So hopefully a bit of positive news from the dealer today... The work to my car has now been completed and it is making its way back to the UK import centre. Timings to be confirmed but sounds promising!
I heard that mine needs the work BUT no delivery date or confirmation the work was even done..... FFSStuey110x2 said:

FINALLY! Some positive news from the dealer for me too...
The work to the car has been completed and it is making its way back to the UK.
Delivery in June but I still want some reassurances ....

Glad to hear it! Mind you, nobody has given me a date yet… early June still feels ‘hopeful’. I’ve been advised that should I cancel and reorder that it will cost an additional £3000 as my current order is price protected against recent rises.
I'm really hoping that I'll get a further update this week. My car should be leaving France today.I think the dealers have a Friday Teams meeting with Alpine UK.

Have you heard anything further? There are rumblings mine might actually be in Solihull by the end of the week but I've been told not to get too excited until they can actually see it!
Ryan messaged me to say the cars were on a boat to the UK and making there way to Bristol. That was on Friday last week, I'm hoping he will have a delivery date after this Friday.... hoping.
Where dealership is your car going to?
Stuey110x2 said:
It will be Holdcroft Solihull. I've asked if they can deliver the car to the detailer/ceramic coating guy nearer me (40mins up the road) as a gesture of goodwill! Was hopeful that it would turn up tomorrow... but doesn't look like it.

Any news? I still don't have a date.... Stuey110x2 said:
No…. same old “It has left the factory and is on its way”. They still have no idea but are now letting me know that they have no idea approx. every two days…
Just ridiculous. I do have a registration number now though!
Been given an approx. delivery date of the 16th but also told it might be upto a week after that....Just ridiculous. I do have a registration number now though!

Latest news from the dealer (who are happy to throw Alpine UK under the bus at every opportunity) is that they are now having logistical issues getting the cars out of Portbury and can’t give a date as to when that will change. Apparently the Midlands (Alpine Solihull) is in the ‘amber’ delivery zone… when I asked where the green zone was I was told that only Bristol was in the green zone so basically Portbury.
Having ordered the car last August for a March 2023 delivery, my sense of excitement has now very much withered at the prospect of receiving a car that was originally built and delivered to the UK import in January/February sometime between July and September. Numerous subsequent false hopes and ultimately a manufacturer that doesn’t appear to care very much about its (repeat) customers has done nothing to lift my spirits in that regard. I’d add that the price has also gone up £5k since I ordered mine so will be speaking to Alpine to see if they will honour that for March 2024 delivery instead. Who knows, they may have installed a head unit/digital screen that doesn’t look like it was made by fisher price by then!

I can confirm I got a letter on delivery, with no detail of the work done, but confirming an extra year of warranty.
Hope you get yours soon mate.
Stuey110x2 said:
Pleased for you! Glad you got your’s sorted. Did the additional warranty come through the dealer or Alpine UK? All I’ve been potentially offered so far is a couple of services… which dealer did you use by the way? Would
Like to know how hard mine are actually trying….
I got my car from Ryan at the Salford dealership. Like to know how hard mine are actually trying….
The extra year is mentioned in the letter I got which was from the delaership.

My trials continue.
Having now had the opportunity to speak to Wasim and his colleague Frankie at Alpine UK Customer services it is clear that communication lines between manufacturer and its dealer network are, charitably speaking, unreliable. As previous post, the last I heard was that the car had returned to Portbury but was now stuck there due to logistical issues (despite other cars suffering from the same original recall being delivered up and down the country… I smelt a rat!). This was the information Solihull were given according to Customer Services. However, they have now confessed that in truth the car never made it back to Bristol at all and is actually still in Dieppe. The reason? During the period between it last being delivered to the UK and its subsequent safety recall back to France, someone has managed to damage one of the alloy wheels. These are the GT style alloys, which appear to be in short supply and apparently they are unable to tell me when a replacement will be available. I give up.
That is so maddening..... the only thing I can say is that the anger will disappear when you get behind the wheel.Having now had the opportunity to speak to Wasim and his colleague Frankie at Alpine UK Customer services it is clear that communication lines between manufacturer and its dealer network are, charitably speaking, unreliable. Can't they provide the car with a different set of temporary wheels?
