Dacia Duster price rise
Discussion
Blimey! 2014 and I was talking about Dusters.
How time flies. I didn't buy until 2021 when my BMW was ULEZed, but only £10500 new.
2 years later and I think the 1.0 3cyl basic car is £15k now. According to WBAC mine is still worth what I paid for it 2 years and 14k miles ago.
Brilliant car, really can't fault it and I still find it fun to drive.
I do keep thinking of chopping it in for a fast saloon, say an Alfa Veloce, but when/where can I use the performance. It would only frustrate.
I thought the little Dacia would slow me down but I still appear to be the quickest in London traffic where it spends 80 percent of its time.
It goes on hikes with me so no worries about it getting muddy inside and out and even handles a little off roading but can sit at 80 all day on the motorway. Very decent MPG as well.
2014! can't believe it was 9 years ago.

That's what they start at now unfortunately.
But all cars have leapt up in price.
Seems only 2 years ago I was considering a new Alfa Guilia Veloce at £35k, they are almost £50k now. Crazy money especially as I'm on the same income that I was on when I bought a new Mustang in 2016 for £33k.
£50k plus now.
You are right, I'd never have considered one at £15k (a Duster).
