It looked like a small version of a Humvee, very small that is. I guess it was a kit of some kind as it was on an "L" plate? It was painted a kind of military camouflage colour. Just wondering.

Yep, probably a Storm Warrior, although it was a "fast-back".
And "L" reg, yes. built on a Disco chassis so body swap, keep the same plate.

Was it one of these? http://www.myelectricvehicle.org/mev-hummer-hx/
I've seen one on the roads.
I wish it was. It was parked up today and I drove past slowly, bloody awful. Beatle based judging from the rusty exhaust hanging out the back. I think it would be difficult to build something as bad no matter how hard you tried.

I built a kit car - it didn't have a Q plate.
Q plates often indicate a kit car, but by no means always.
Not all kit cars have Q plates, lots of them don't and they are legal.
Funny that, the two kit cars that I have built SVA'd and registered weren't Q plate either, (they were age related).

And my mistake, it was "F" reg. Not "L".
