just came across this, BMW Z3 with Ferrari 250 SWB kit (its not painted yet)

me thinks it looks (or can look) very good (this one is not completely ready yet, paint etc)

they already made it better I saw, see new pictures, way better>>

put some classic style steering wheel in it and some wooden shift knob and maybe some classic sportseats
and you have a nice classic style looking car based on a reliable Z3 roadster.

not precise the same angle, but comes close, if the z3 kit uses better fitting wheels (better ET)
and its completely build/ready, I think it looks good (for the money/idea)

remember its not painted yet and has no grill in the front and not the right wheels, not saying the real car
as by example picture below looks great, but the wheels on the kit are to wide out, a good fit just inside the arches would look way better, but they are still making it better I think.

just great when it looks a bit like those>

also the rear view is good from such car.

badges you don't have to take, or you can take them of, those are not such 'problem' (for some)
I would also change simple bits in the interior, like the steering wheel and shift knob and handbrake lever and the seats, to give it an even more classic feel.

you could even go crazy and do a V8 conversion or even a v12, but then it gets a bit nose heavy, but it fits if you want, even BMW made a (one) V12 Z3 ;-)
then take all the intake stuff of and put some carburators on? but thats a bit 'crazy' I guess biggrin

original it seems to look a bit like this>

biggrin

I think best is to use a Z3 with around plate damage? or how you say such, then its not so hard to use the Z3 base.

yes, but also side damage, I believe you don't need much from the outside of the donor car.

you can also sell the original good 'shell' parts.

in Dutch I would say, plaatwerk, but that does not translate very well...
but say a with front/rear/wings etc damaged car could be a cheap donor, you don't need those outside parts I guess.

when you look at those parts>

but no idea how they fit all on the base car, bounding or screwing? would be nice to see the base car done from all unnecessary parts.

hm seeing prices for complete ones starting from 1.700,-gbp you won't have to buy a damaged car, when you sell
the good parts from such 'cheap' Z3 you got one for free biggrin

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds?Category=us...

of course M model prices are in a different category.

in the Netherlands they seem to use letters that look a bit like Ferrari but it says Erjee, also in the documents and the Ferrari horse is also just different, good find biggrin

I wonder how it drives (yeah same as before, but...), I mean because of the different aero etc, also maybe windnoises more/less?

Also a big weight gain I believe? at least what was posted on FB something like 920kg
and a perfect weight something of 50/50? sounds good.

I think on the BMW Z3 basis it would be more like 1.250 kg or so?

Thanks for your comments, it means a lot from a Z3 owner! Have you still got the 3litre one? I just bought one and the power difference even compared to the 2.8 is very noticeable.
Nope, I sold the Z3 coupe 3.0 because my project car was ready, but that one is on sale also, because of the 'bad' trigger it gaves me after a almost 4 year traject.

But to be honest, its fun driving when the road ahead gives you some free moving space ;-)
this is my Z3 s65, a Z3 with e9x M3 V8 and 445ps with 6-speed also from the M3 V8 models.
