Got me a new toy
Westfield Sei (Narrow body, Independant Rear Suspension), jet black with cycle wings.
Set of 13" 5 spoke Revolution Alloys with Avon Turbospeed tyres plus a set of 14" Minilight alloys with little used slicks.
Connaught 1600 X-flow 145 Bhp
Twin 45 Webbers (suck, suck, suck !)
Dry Sumped
RS2000 4 speed box
Limited slip quaife diff.
Discs all round
RAC roll bar
Sports seats, harnesses, electric pull off switch
Quick rack, etc etc
Was built by the first owner as a hillclimb car in 1990, but didn't no much competition work, then just sat around for most of the 90's (MOTs to prove)
Engine was built by Connaught, blueprinted, lightened balanced crank and conrods, fancy pistons, yadda yadda. Two dyno tests, one at 142 bhp, a later one at 145 bhp (at 6?00 rpm), 133 lbft torque at 5000 rpm. Weighing the same as a couple of bags of sugar, so should be fun
juansolo : thanks for all your previous info, it all came in VERY useful .... thanks I know a Cosworth or whatever engine would have been better, but basically I can't aford the extra 3k or 4k I'd need to get such a vehicle (I can always sell and trade up in the future). Okay, so I was looking for a pinto engined car, but this Connaught built engine is a real sweetie ..... (and seriously loud !)
Will post some pictures when I get back from Italy (off tomorrow to the Ferrari and Maserati factories )
Questions :
The car has no wing mirrors ... NEED wing mirrors ! What do other people fit / use ?
What are the brakes likely to be from on this car, or how on earth would I find out ?
