what would you choose and why

southern gt40 vs gd t70

these are the only 2 good quality midengine 60s replicas i can think of in uk
seems the gd chassis is overall going to be better and has been updated

but the gt40 is a more accurate replica, also has a proper roof. slighly less expensive

For Road and track days

Test drove a superformance gt40 and was disappointed heavy steering and poor road compliance

thanks for the info
purely on aesthetics- the southern gt externally i believe is very close to an original car in terms of dimensions/shape

comparing the gd t70 with real ones at Goodwood recently the gd car seems wider and beefier, perhaps shorter overall length too

i dont really like the moda coupe rear section - looks too modern

id be looking to get a turnkey car, and andy said a t70 would be 80-90k minimum
southern would come in a fair bit less i believe

for sure the t70 is more exclusive, more curvaceous.
it is a tough choice.. i was initially put off gt40s when i drove the superformance. but im assuming it wasnt set up quite right.

Yes i think a 60s road car oriented gt40 would look great.

Torrino would make the wheels but at £1000 a corner..

Im in west london

From what ive heard a Southern gt40 with its revised suspension and lower centre of gravity etc will be seriously quick in the right hands around a track

What makes the gdt70 much quicker ? Assuming similar power output.

Perhaps not all the relevant but the whitsun trophy is always very evenly contested between t70s and gt40s

Was comparing gt40s to the t70 mk1 spyders that race in whitsun trophy. This yr a gt40 came out on top i think

Dont think the value has anything to do with it.. Have a look at kenny bracks gt40 drive a couple of years ago.. One of the greatest ever
