Hi, looking at buying a Cobra rep in near future and have come across the ( probably done to death ! ) issues with V5’s etc.
In a nutshell should the V5 say ‘Dax ‘ ( or cobra etc ) AND the MOT certs AND the road tax status ?
Is it basically a no no if any are still in name of donor vehicle ?
Presuming all 3 are in same name so to speak and pre 78 does that really mean MOT and road tax free ?
Sorry if all is obvious just don’t want to buy a can of worms !
Cheers all .

Thanks, I only said ‘Cobra’ in a generic sense , I should have been specific and said the kit name ( Dax/ GD/ Pilgrim etc)
My question still stands 👍

Interesting Steve and makes sense re V5. Still can’t help thinking though that if V5 stars Dax Tojeiro. ( for example ) and first regestered/ date built 1976 ( for example ) then why would that not exempt it from mot: tax under the 40 year rule ?
Obviously it would be unlikely that the car was built that long ago but if the paperwork says that then ?......

Just read over on cobraforum a chap took his Cobra ( correctly registered as make etc and with a 1977 date of reg) the tester tested using the regs for a 77 car.
