Hi I have been looking at a kit car and the vin number is only 6 digits long but it is on the v5 and on a Pop riveted aluminium plate under the bonnet, is this ok. Cheers Pete

Thanks for that, I'm certainly not young, there is no build history, and only two MOT's that I can see, i think it's probably well built. It's just the short vin number that conserns me, I did hpi it and that is the only thing it flagged up. Cheers Pete

Surely if it exists on the car and it matches the v5 then there isn't a problem?
Thought all vins were supposed to be 11 or 17 digits

Already rung to ask about vin they didn't seem interested, told me to check it out elsewhere. I've tried to check it out but drawn a blank. Thanks Pete
