Uprated Essex V6 Exhaust Gaskets?

Wondering if anyone knows of any exhaust gaskets that are more heavy duty than the standard replacement items?

Really, thats interesting most high temp silicon seems to be good up to 300c which I must be ample for manifold to head fixing.

liner 33 is quite correct and is what i thought right away on seeing the subject, when you fit the exhaust manifolds you have to draw file them across the fixing holes, each branch individually, you will be amazed how much dip and distortion there is on some of them. it is well worth the effort!!! best regards keith

yes that is the problem, some of the individual flanges are not mounting perfectly flat, have resolved it but doubling up the gaskets, with a double thickness they seem to have clamped up nice and gas tight.

In an ideal world would agree with you, but have one more race this season then will be pulling most of it apart over the winter anyway.

Its a classic, manifold flanges are often not on a common plate so the pipes have to be "encouraged" to fit.
They do for a week, and then a weld starts to break and the manifold starts to blow. You have it welded and it moves a little due the welding and so its harder to fit the next time etc...

Individual pipes help the process..
