On my 3000S a previous owner fitted an Oil Cooler. Also there is a Sensor fitted in the front of the Engine next to the Oil pressure connection. There was a wire from this area upto Dashboard but no Oil Temperature Gauge ever fitted.
Do you think it's a good idea to fit an Oil Cooler to a road car and would it make sense to fit an Oil Temp gauge.
Maybe a bit OTT.

Does that wire go to an oil pressure warning light?
I don't think there is an Oil pressure warning light in the Dashboard on my 3000S.
There's already an Oil pressure gauge .
I just imagined the sensor in the "T" shared with the Oil pressure Gauge would be to fit an Oil Temp Gauge.
I have only had contact with sadly the Widow of a past owner so impossible to ask questions.
I understand he used to do some track days and have a photo of the 3000S at Goodwood.

So it makes sense when you fit an Oil Cooler that it has a Thermostat.
Or fit an Oil Temp Gauge so you can take it easy until the Oil warms up.
Next question what is the correct operating temperature for the Oil.
What would be the correct Oil pressure for an Essex Engine.

So to fit an Oil Temp Gauge where would we fit the Sensor for the Gauge, next to the Oil pressure Sensor.
I see no sense in fitting an Oil pressure warning Light as when it comes on it's too late. Plus an Oil Temp Gauge is another nice Gauge to watch .
