Not sure in this scenario. I know on auto trader, less scrupulous dealers employ this technique to prevent interested parties from checking the VOSA online site for MOT history of a vehicle. On the assumption that the facts may not align with the sellers often used "mint" and "well looked after" description.
I saw one myself once when looking for my sons first drive. Advertised as honest , solid and well looked after, you won't find a better example at this price etc.
The VOSA history listed a recent fail as structurally dangerous and shouldn't be driven or similar wording.
