So on my 3000S someone fitted an Oil Cooler.
There is Oil residue around the Braided Flexibles between the Filter and Cooler.
I think the Oil pressure readings i'm getting for me seem high.
I'm wondering if the Oil Cooler is needed.
Have any of you Guys got an Oil Cooler fitted and do you think it's needed.
What Oil pressure do you think is correct.
Many thanks in advance
Alan

Sounds like it needs a rebuild then
Easy to say when it's not you paying lol.
All the time it runs without smoking or leaking Oil the Engine is staying in one Piece on the 3000M.
I must stop looking at the Oil Pressure Gauge and look at the Coast while i'm driving here in Brittany.

I think the standard Essex oil pump pressure relief valve is set at 40psi, how much below that is your engine running at anything above tickover?
Sorry but i didn't say it was below the Ford 40 psi figure.
I said it is less than my 3000S which has an Oil Cooler and HP Pump.
My thoughts are that too high pressure can be bad also.
Oil needs to operate at their designed operating Temperature.
Same as Engines need to operate at their designed operating Temperature. Not too hot not too cold.
Maybe the best is to have an Oil Temperature Gauge to see whats happening.
