what are all the rectangular plates on the chassis are you converting it to bolt on body, also cant see the steering box mount are you converting to rack and pinion ?. Is it going to be Gulf colours like your Tuscan ?.
cheers
Rich
Hall Rich,cheers
Rich
Yes, it will be a bolt on body and the original steering will come back on this chassis. The chassis was already converted to rack and pinion but will be removed. I have to figure out what exactly the position is of the original mounting plate. But I think it is better to do that when the body is mounted on chassis and the steeringwheel is positioned. All the Nylon bushes for the suspension are in the house and trailing arms are ready to be fitted on chassis. The plan is to have a "rolling " chassis before christmas (2007). Colour of the car will be "Old English White" with red interior.
Hallo Stephan,
Haven't heard from you for a long time. Everything OK ?

Good luck I retored a 59 grantura from a pile of bitts in 96 it won best of class a the blackpool thrash 97. I had to sell it when I was on the crest of a slump at the turn of the millenium, if there is any thing you have a problem with give me a shout, PS I think Oliver Edwards has a contact for the rear screens, we had a jig made up. Regards , Keith
Hallo Keith,So far , no problems ! New front and rear screen are already on the shelf.
After some discussions with TVR Grantura owners I decided not to use the original steering. The original steeringcolumn drives like a truck they all said. So, I will install a rack and pinion and convert it to LHD. Further upgrades will be discs on the front and a brake vacuumpod.
I will keep you all informed.

Hi Cantus,
I wonder if you would be so kind as to provide me with some information about your TVR so as to update my archive. I see that you note chassis 116. Can you tell me if it is 7/F/116, 7/FS/116, 7/B/116, 7/C-S/116, or 7/C/116? Can you also send me some photos? Do you have any documentation or registration data on the montn the car was built or registered. I take it that your car has the vent or fly windows, slight hump over the rev counter and speedo, as well as the front fender stiffner but no rear quarter stiffner? Can you please tell me if your chassis is configured as A or B below:
Where the upper engine bay frame tubes meet the upper torsion bar are the gussets (triangular stiffeners) located on the (A)inside or the outside (B)?
Thanks for any info. Sincerely,
Alex Saidel

How are you ?
My car is Ford Supercharged ! So FS . Engine and Supercharger are with the car. Date of registration is the 7 of august 1959 which is exactly the day and year I started my life on this planet. The car is equiped with window vents and hump above the 5 inch speedo and rev counter.
What do you mean with rear Quater stiffener ? I think you mean the polyester stiffener above the rear wheel ? In that case there isn't a stiffener. All smooth.
Gussetes are on the inside. I will sent you some pics of the chassis .
I try to come over to the US for woodwork this year. Are you there as well ?
Kind regards
William Wardenburg

I am thinking to make it old english white with red interior..........what do you think ?
BORINGDefinately has to be Dutch Orange and not Italian Blue, or you could go with the winning German Porsche Viper Green.

Hi William,
Have you leak tested it yet, when i refurbished mine it needed a couple of the seams re soldering. Has yours got a steel plate on the bottom to mount it to the chassis, had to make a new one for mine . I think id rather shine some copper than gardening.

Yes I know.....could do much better things.
Couldn't make a choise between to go and see the concert of Marco Borsato incl. a meet-and-greet with Gerard Joling or.......polishing my copper tank.
And no Richard I didn't test it yet on pressure. Good advice !!!Thnx !
Don't have the steel plate ! I have to make one.

I assume these are work in progress shots while you measure for spacers between caps and strenghthening beam?
Edited to add
On further inspection I can now see spacers in the background on the centre bearing capsorry
That's right. The spacers on the front are not installed yet because I had to lower them because the edges were scratching the oilpan. That is why I also rounded the corners of the front bar.I assume these are work in progress shots while you measure for spacers between caps and strenghthening beam?
