temperature sensor - TVR 1600M
Discussion
Hello
I have a TVR 1600m (1973)
What is the correct temperature sensor for my 711M crossflow?
I tried sensors of different colours (white from Cortina 1600, black or purple...)and each time the needle gauge (SMITHS temperature gauge) climbs gradually and ends in the hot while the water temperature is normal (between 80 - 90° C)
What do I sensor mounted on my engine?
Thanks

thank you for this address
So that is this sender:
Product: SMITHS TEMP SENDER 1/8NPT
Model: CB-TS-18
Brand: CAERBONT
Categories: SMITHS CLASSIC SENDERS - INSTRUMENTS
I wondered if this sender can be mounted with the old or new temperature gauges and without problem. That reassures me about this purchase, me too, I'm tired of spending money wrongly.

Yes, I found a sensor that works.
after trying sensor of ford cortina or escort, nothing worked properly.
A few years ago, I bought a set of used sensor (oil pressure, water temperature, gauges....) for rally cars.
I tested all of them: a pan of hot water, the gauge of TVR, an electric fuel level sender (rheostat), a thermometer and an ohmmeter.
Among the sensor, only one worked : UNF thread, a spade connector, a white insulation. But there is no marking on it.
So I don't know the origin of this sensor
I'm really sorry, I wanted to help you a little more
