it will be the 'bird' that wins.

these competitions are not based on talent but on what is best for the promotion. if a girl wins it then the organisers will be thinking that more girls will enter next year and therefore more money generated..

I am not sure how much money is generated by this competition as the original company SYW Limited has gone into liquidation. A new company "So World limited" has appeared in its place leaving some people out of pocket!

Tiffany also has the backing of Autosport as she was featured as the one to watch. However she still has to beat Rui Chagas and the other fellow. I met Rui last year when he tested a Formula 3 car for Reon and he was not that quick then.

Have they changed the rules for this years competition then as I'm sure there was something about not having and used a racing license for at least the 12 months prior to entering last time (or something similar)?

Quite a few things have changed! One thing I can say is that Jensen Button will have nothing more to do with the organisers of the show. The organisers decided to include experienced drivers because they have sponsorship already in the bank!

i think you are all being very unfair on tiffany. if she wins everyone will say "the girl won its unfair, based on looks yah yah yah" this however is bullshit. she has been karting for the last ten years and is very competitive. she is the highest ranked female karter in the country at the moment so a bit of respect is due!...

I respect is due to Tiffany, Rui and Brady! However this competition is about who brings the most sponsorship. If Max reads this, may be he will tell us more.

The sponsors wildcard system kind of makes sense anybody who knows how the sport really works will tell you finding a keeping sponsors is equal to if not more important than driving skill.

Why do they need to pay Matthews £1200? If this is true; then he should hand it back.

Not sure !

Suppose it is for goodwill I guess, maybe Tim can answer

john75, are you going to apply for the vacant post of "Comercial Manager" of So World Ltd?

I believe the last one left because he was owed money and has been left out of pocket just like the two before him.

As the 1st Commercial Director and the organiser of the 2004 qualifying venues I was awarded a CCJ against SYW Ltd of £7K for non payment of Sponsorship Commission. I also lost 7.5% of the competition rights, when SYW ceased trading, even though it was declared as the owner in all the contracts?

I don't know how much the second guy lost but Tim does have a habit of spending other peoples money to fund his own racing and lifestyle. I think Neil Purdie found that out as well, when Tim handled Exchange & Mart race budget. Maybe Neil could comment on that to set the record straight?

I think Neil wants to move on from the experience with SYW Ltd. He is working on plans for 2005.

News just in! Tiffany Chittenden is out of the "So you want to be a Grand Prix Driver?" competition. The reason is because she has refused to sign the management contract with Tim Matthews!

As I have said before; my money is on Rui Chagas to take the title.

A race in a BOSS Formula car! However this time he has had to hire a car! The car they are using is Scott Mansell's Bennetton B194. The owner of the Tyrrell was unhappy about the way Matthews used the car.

So really the it is more of a case of "so you want to have a one off drive in an old F1 car against aload of 50 year old clubman racers"

Does not have the same ring about it !

John, Do you think Tiffany was right to pull out of the competition because of having to sign a 7 year contract with So World Limited!

Depends what was in the contract if that is the case.

If driver friend of mine asked me whether he/she should sign a 7 year management contract I would say not unless their are some tanigble benefits.

Without seeing the contract it is hard to make a reasonable coment on the matter.

I saw the one Tim offered Mark Johnston! It even had "Essentially Sport" still left in it by mistake. Tim even told one of this year's final 3 that it was the "Essentially" contract! That contract is copyright to Essentially; so it would be void as it was effectivly stolen from Essentially! How do I know this? Answer! I was told by someone at Essentially!

Writing contracts is not Tim Matthews' forte. He's still using my sponsor contract wording to this day. As it goes, a 7 year contract with Tim would give the winner no guarantee of doing any racing whatsoever since he can't even raise his own Sports 2000 budget without chicanery. He's using TOCA Racing driver logos on the event this year, even though they didn't actually sponsor it. The contract will just be there in case the winner ever makes any money, so Tim can go racing.

Hi Max!

There are no big names on Tim's car except "SYW Ltd" which has now gone into liquidation!

Now that Tiffany could not agree terms with Matthews; my friend Rui has the title in the bag! A worthy successor to Mark Johnston.
