First race is December 15th, it's been announced that BBC will have live coverage online/red button/iPlayer, and something on a BBC channel too. This is as well as the live races being shown on Youtube. Whether they take the world feed or have their own coverage and presenters is all TBC.

They're not identical. It's just the chassis, body and battery that are shared. Teams build their own motor, inverter, gearbox and cooling.

Season 5 round 1 and the presentation of this series is still a shambles. The sound in particular- microphones not working, commentators talking over team radio etc.

Now trying to find out how to watch on TV as I’m sure it’s supposed to be on the red button but the Formula E website isn’t working...

Audi powered cars starting from the back because they all had power spikes riding the bumps. Software issue.

So what did vergne get a drive through penalty for then?
Not sure about Verne but several drivers got drive through penalties for using too much power. Which is something I found rather annoying actually. If they can have Fan Boost and Attack Mode then clearly they can limit / raise the power, so why is it not limited in normal use?
Sam Bird said it was something to do with the software when the car goes over a bump, and because of the limited practice and shakedown time, and its a new car, they couldn't sort out a software fix in time for quali or the race. It is one rule that is especially annoying. It's not a massive advantage, its a fraction of a second power spike because the wheel is off the ground and the driver has his foot down. But because it shows up on the graph, they get done for it.

So I guess those out of power at the end screwed up the calculations after the drivers did that extra lap under the red flag. I know they all did but there's always a few cars running it close when others finish with 2%.
Yeah, I think the drivers carrying on under the red flag screwed up a lot of the numbers on the energy levels. That last lap was nuts though hehe

Yes, but only for the first 13 metres, Rowland blew past him off the line.
Normal service resumed hehe

What they need to do is fix the aero so that the cars can't get so close to each other, that's been done in F1 for years hehe

Didn't know it was on so missed it, daft that with multiple carriers that neither have catch up or on demand replay of it, have to wait till 10:30 tonight for highlights!

Crap that with so much capacity these channels can't deliver the product, there must be several annoyed fans.

For season 6 2019/20 there will be new rules to stop traction control on the cars. TC is banned but all except 2 teams have a workaround in their software. https://e-racing365.com/formula-e/fia-acts-to-end-...

New York race 1 about to start. Maybe Buemi can get a win from pole this time? Would be Nissan's first.

Banger racing start further back hehe

I watched it on Youtube, tomorrow's race should be on the same channel. It's the same programme and commentary as BBC, but the YouTube (and iPlayer) is HD, not BBC red button blurryvision.
