Not long until the Monte already, and Citroen busy testing...

Not sure what's been confirmed at M-Sport??

Have been following the MSN All Circuit Rally over the winter, seems pretty popular and they're making an effort with the coverage. http://msnrallychamp.co.uk/video/

Formula E will pay a bunch of media outlets lots of money to cover it... and hardly anybody who is actually interested in cars will care,
And yet there are three times as many posts on here about the one electric championship than there are about the whole of rallying!
It's the same on Autosport; each Formula E round get massive interest; and 3-4 pages of comments. You'll be lucky if there are a dozen comments on most WRC rounds. Motorsportforums is the only place were rallying gets decent interest.
Have you seen Motorsport News today??

Great coverage on BT Sport this morning, assume that it's just the WRC Live stuff being used. Hope this continues through 2019!

Outside view of Mikkelsen's crash, bit of brain fade?

Immediately after, he said he had it "flat" in his pacenotes to try and keep speed up into the finish. I guess he didn't amend his intentions in light of road conditions, as he had been going pretty well up to then.
The onboard showed that he messed the corner up, had two bites at it on turn in and ran wide... into a pretty big tree.

You can watch RedBull TV on either their website, or on their app - and you can set a reminder when it starts.
Thank you mate. Appreciate it. smile
Red bull tv highlights were pretty good I thought. Just focused on the power stage though.. wrc will be ultra competitive this year, several drivers capable of wins. Should be good.

So.... can we agree that both Loeb and Ogier have been fairly amazing in the past, have dominated and stuffed their opposition when needed. Quite talented.

It looks like it should be a fantastic 2019, shall we move on? Sweden next and not too far off.

Meeke seems at one with the toyota, definately has the speed. Hoping for a better season for him.
Never really believed in Meeke and completely understood the Citoren decision, but very impressed by his Monte performance. Fingers crossed that this is the start of something good.

First stage (only a very short special stage) is this evening at 19:08 GMT. Live on BT Sport.

Should be a cracking Swedish Rally.

Slow speed corner. Who would have thought his first WRC win would evaporat that way.
Tanak pressure.. will be an interesting midfield scrap now, will Evans get on the podium? Great effort if he does.

It was a decent event. But Palmer has ruined things even more, the entire thing now is all on sealed surface, nearly all of it on the track, cars never get to top gear.

And worst of all to prevent drivers going on the grass the team even put up tyre barriers on corner exits on the race track in some areas, so if you spun, you didn't just go on the grass, you hit tyres at 60 mph doing totally unnecessary damage.

Having said that, you get the yang, loads of new toilet blocks, a new paved entry way from the car park, and new asphalt path whole length of melbourne loop.

Just sadly this is not real rallying, it is rallying on his terms and he knows it, Go on the grass, you will probably damage your car, don't go anywhere interesting as I have to spend money repairing it afterwards and I cant control this as well as I want to.

The event was dominated by the Smiths, but there were good drives, watching Westy broadside down Craners was fabulous. Some great class drives too.

Weather was drizzly then hosing it for second half. So i left at about 3.
You do realise that it was a sealed surface circuit rally (no competitor would want grass or gravel) and that Palmer would have had zero involvement in the running of the event??

Had a look at some of the Donington onboards this evening. I'd definitely fancy giving this sort of event a go, must be a good way to start rallying.

BT sport were streaming the live stages last night, same planned for later today. I don't think they provide a catch up as these are "extra" channels.

Red Bull TV review of the day is available now. Brits going well!

Probably all due to contracts and what countries have paid, but I would rather have two Polands than this stuff.
There's no probably about it. International sport is all about money. What the promoter (country backing) can be, TV revenue and where the manufacturers want to go for sponsor reasons. Nothing much else will be a consideration.

I don't have a real issue with the evening spectator events. They get massive crowds, TV / promoters will like them, so they get the best exposure for the weekend. The way to get more people interested, so do it if you can.
