Hi All,
I'm trying to get a handle on costs for the TVRCC challenge.

The regs state: The Maximum Entry Fee for each round shall be: As detailed in the SR’s for the event in question.

What are the 'SR's'?

Paperwork:
TVRCC membership £43
BARC racing membership £95
MSA National B racing license £43
MSA National entrants fee £134
TVRCC Challenge registration fee £150

Did I miss anyone? :D

Tyres:
MSA blue book approved list covers a big range. Is there any agreement between competitors as to a minimum standard of specific manufacturer or shortlist? Will tyres cost hundreds per set or are there viable cheaper alternatives for budget racing?

The car:
I've been offered a Tasmin FHC racer minus engine, box and wheels. I have a V6 Cosworth engine and have seen on the TVRCC challenge website that at least one competitor is already using this powerplant.

Would I be hopelessly outgunned and get in everybody's way if I left it at it's standard 200BHP?
Are the costs involved in tuning it prohibitive?

What would be a suitable tyre cross section for the output I need?

Thanks in advance for any advice/encouragement/injection of realism.

Thanks guys, very encouraging.

Cliff: Nice looking cars in your profile

Graham: I was going on this:
www.barc.net/PDFdocs2005/tvrregs2005ver1.pdf
1.3 Competitor Eligibility:
1.3.1 Entrants where applicable must be in possession of a valid 2005 MSA Entrants Licence.
1.3.2 Drivers and Entrant/Drivers must be fully paid up valid racing membership card holding members of the
TVRCC and the BARC, be Registered for the series and be in possession of valid MSA Competition
(Racing) National B Licence minimum.

The MSA entrants license is £134 according to
www.msauk.org/pdfs/2005_licences/2005_App_Competition_Licence64k.pdf

Anyway, that's all boring old paperwork, I want to go racing

I'll definitely come down to Cadwell to watch the action close up. It'd be great to dip my toe in the water, so I'd love to take you up on your kind offer.

Lets talk at Cadwell.
