Brands Hatch - Marcos Nightmare

Will be very sad if it is, although I take it the title is out of the question now anyway after such a bad w/e.
The car went in hard (I was about 75 meters from the point of impact) but if there isn’t too much damage to the chassis it could be fixed relatively swiftly.
Hope they are out again as it’s great to see them take the battle to the 911s

I did see the car back in the paddock, it was in really bad shape although they didn’t seem to think there was any engine damage, the chassis looked very twisted – the team looked so disappointed, considering the age and the original value of the Marcos they really do take a good race to some very high tech bits of kit, lets just hope they get it ready for the next meet.

Any news on the Marcos, does anyone know if Chris Beighton is rebuilding for the next race?
Chris is racing in the Britcar 24 hours this weekend, so we'll probably find out then. The damage to the car was considerable, as you obviously saw; but he also managed to smash the dashboard with his head and from what I could gather at the time a rebuild would be unlikely in the short term.
There's always hope though.
Thanks for that, what a shame, what car did he use in the Britcar 24 hours?

In the 24 Hour they were driving with Oliver Bryant and his father in their Marcos Mantis which was new to them with this being its 1st outing...
...which sadly ended its race looking rather second-hand.
I didn't see it go off but I did notice some marks across the grass on the exit of Becketts along with a light pod and some yellow plastic?
Please dont tell me Chris Beighton did that?
