Germany route advice
Discussion
I am travelling from Ijmuiden (Amsterdam) to Lübeck this Friday. I am looking for route advice. I'll be entering Germany on the A30 (which is what the Dutch A1 becomes). Do I either continue west on the A30, picking up the A1 at Osnabrück and following the A1 all the way past Bremen and Hamburg to Lübeck? or do I take the A31 north to Leer and then A28 east to Bremen?
I am not looking to do any crazy speed stuff, although the absence of speed limits is desirable: I just want the route with the least traffic. The A31-A28-A1 route looks longer but much quieter than the A1 route. I imagine that up to the big ports the A1 can pretty choked during the day.
Advice welcome. I did post a similar query in the Germany section but all I can hear is tumbleweed...
