Track car photoshoot private locations needed
Discussion
Hey all
Need some advice please, I need to take some static shots of my race/track car. Its not road legal and has to be trailered everywhere which is pretty limiting and doesn't work with the current photo location thread.
Looking for any suggestions that are remote or secure. Places like disused carparks, factories, large open spaces or just beautiful countryside with large flat areas. If anyone knows security guards of large areas, I'm more than happy to give them some beer money.
I'm based in the Bedfordshire area but willing to travel for an hour or two for the right location.
Thanks

Another thought, MK seems to be a base for lots of car manufacturers, aftermarket parts etc... Do you have any parts by any company that has a warehouse based locally to you? You might be able to work something out by them letting you use the space and you giving them some photos to use?
I don't think anything on the car is from the MK area dude, most parts are either from up north, Japan or AmericaEdited by ashleyman on Monday 21st January 12:17

That's a bargain to be honest, especially for a London studio. Does that include photographic/retouching work?
Depends what you're after really. You've obviously spent thousands on the car.
£500 would be better spent on the car Depends what you're after really. You've obviously spent thousands on the car.
I can do the actual photography and have photographer friends that can help out. I'm really after location recommendations but it just needs to be quite and flat. Because it will be on a trailer, its not like I can just nip out and take and shot and move one within minutes.

Fair enough. Not sure how it worked but just an idea.
There's a good studio near me in Surrey that will do a full studio for half a day with lighting rentals for £250 but thats probably too far for you. Looking at my list of studios with car access there's nothing in Bedfordshire which is annoying. You probably know this but make sure you tell them it's a personal shoot and not commercial or editorial as that might change the rate a little - especially if they can fill the space when it would otherwise be empty.
Thanks dude, yeah just a little too far, such a shame. There's a good studio near me in Surrey that will do a full studio for half a day with lighting rentals for £250 but thats probably too far for you. Yeah, don't worry about usage and rights etc. I can normally get test shoot rates and I try and send them work their way in return.

What's your intention with the images, just a keepsake?
I generally scout on google earth and then get in touch with land-owners as appropriate. If you've got friends in the business, might be worth getting them on the case?
They're for my Instagram account (addictracing). I've spent several hours on google earth looking around, I've got a friend at Bedford Autodromw just round the corner but I just wanted to hear if anyone else has any other recommendations. What's your intention with the images, just a keepsake?

Is that the end product, or are you hoping to garner sponsors through your following?
I imagine the pit-garages there would make for an ideal location.
Happy if people want to partner up as I'm aiming to enter Time Attack very soon. I've already done loads at Bedford as I'm normally there doing track days but I'm hoping my mate who's a kick arse photographer will take better pic's.I imagine the pit-garages there would make for an ideal location.
