Been meaning to post something up for a while but never got round to it!

Aquired it back in 2010 as a standard car which looked like this

57 plate with 18k on the clock, White side stripes with Technology pack ( auto wipers + lights, powerfold mirrors and MP3 aux port )

Managed to sneak into a magazine shortly afterwards

Painted all of the plastics myself ( front and rear valance, grille, spot light covers front and rear[ rattle can did a fine job ]) and de-tango'd the headlights and fitted a mk1 focus RS splitter
Had a little photoshoot with a friends LY 182

Then removed the side stripes stripes, wheels refrubed , plastics painted Gloss black as i wasnt happy with the crap job i did, now looks much better!
Sort of going for some styling changes first before i did anything proper.

Lowered 35mm on eibach springs
Before

After, looked low on the back but springs hadnt settled in yet.

Splitter numero uno didnt last long...replaced it with a better one!

Then started on some performance stuff, K&N57i induction kit ( made a bit difference from the very restrictive airbox!

Coupled upto a 60mm throttle body ( 57mm standard ) is a simple bolt on bolt off job!

Got some more stuff painted, Gloss black B Pillars

Gloss black mirrrors

Bought a second set of wheels and had them refurbished in gloss black , really happy with these!

Got them fitted at the weekend before RS Central Show at Santa Pod

Got a full Milltek exhaust coming on at the end of the month, really cant wait for that!

Thanks for reading thumbup

Picked up park of the milltek yesterday, 2nd hand item from a friend of mine.

Its a 4-1, sport cat and resonated catback system. Got it home and set to work on cleaning it up.

Only reallly going to bother with that back box, 90% of the time youll only see the tailpipe but it looks good if you ever look under it!

How it was

Resonator needed nothing more than a quick zip over with some trusty wd40

Took some Wet+dry to the tailpipe that isnt chrome plated, it was looking tired along with the back off the back box that its welded onto

Then hit the lot with some autosol

Hopefully should have it on at this week at somepoint, will put the manifold on another time as its not in my hands yet!

Will update it when its on thumbup

Looks like some pretty big silencers on there, I imagine the resonated Milltek will not be all that loud. I had a resonated Milltek on my Cupra R and it was too quiet for my tastes!
My brother has the same but decat and its quite loud. If it was too quiet i could always get a non resonates pipe and drop it on it wouldnt be too much hassle!

There's something about the shape of these Feasties that really appeals to me....
Definitely. Prefer these to the new one strangely.
This reason why i dont have a mk7! had one as a courtesy car and it was awful, build quality was shoddy and everything felt just a bit too bulky!

Nice, but i would prefer the silver wheels myself.

What sort of bhp gains do you rekon with the mods, anything else planned?
At the time i bought them and got them painted because i wasnt sure if i would like black or not.

Put them on and wasnt sure and am still only 99.99% happy with them but i think they look good!

With regards to mods the things ive done are the remove the main restrictors. The airbox for example is a maze on unneded piping and airbox. Simple k&n gives better throttle response and lets the engine breathe and pick up better

60mm throttle body is said to give 17%more airflow. Generally it hasnt made a massive difference to performance (still got a very restrictive exhaust on, which ill get onto) throttle response is better and has a smooth idle( 57mm can jump around a little bit at times)

The exhaust has a flexy pipe which goes very narrow at one point. The new system is a larger bore all te way through will a 200cell sport cat.

I reckon if it got 170bhp on a dyno id be happy at that smile

Interested to know what difference an extra 3mm on the throttle body makes. Not a mod I'd heard of before.

This seems an appropriate place to ask but I just remembered reading somewhere that the ST in stock form won't allow the throttle to be opened 100% or something along those lines, is that right or some sort of misunderstanding or urban myth?
As i said bellow, better airflow and smoother idle , throttle response and rev range . tis a very popular mod but the price of them ate extorsionate . They used to be about 90quid new, then the suppliers cottoned onto it and now they charge about 300quid redface

It's like Focus ST brakes for Mk3 Mondeos. I picked them up for £50. If you see them for £250 now, it's a bargain.
Podie you dont happen do have your old mk3 mondeo calipers and carriers do you? i want to do the 300mm upgrade at somepoint and these are what i need for the fronts!

Looks great matey, I have a mate with one styled almost identically to yours, just out of interest - do those B-Pillars just pop off?
Thanks smile Errmm they do pop out but be very careful as they can crack snap and break if theyre cold ( as i found out on one of them! Try and put a bit of heat onto them with a hair dryer or something, theyre well clipped in with 3 clips and they can be a bugger but they should just pop straight out!

I drove a Fiesta ST185 Mountune, with the Sparco(?) seats and the kW suspension... it was a hoot. Sometimes wish I'd bought it...
Totally agree! Been out in a friends MR200 , n/a sound is just awesome!
Also been out in another friends supercharged st, was 299bhp at the time and was silly quick!
He did have it upto 328bhp but stripped it and got a focus rs

i was 19 and walked into a dealer and tried on out, i think they were reluctant at first but i got a go on one! Then second time round i looked at this one and had no problems.

Think the insurance was about 1400 on a standard car when i was 20 ( 2 years driving 2yrs ncb )

Okay thanks worth a try then will look at one nearer the time already ran a mk6 fiesta before albeit a 1.4 ghia and even that was a laugh so imagine these are a real hoot to drive.
And yeah I have a good postcode here at university got quoted £900 aged 20 with 2yr ncb and 3 points comp which is only £200 more than my 1.4 ZR and nearly £500 less than a 182 Clio hence me going for the fiesta.
i went from a 1.4zetec :thumb: was a real step up but ive found the need for more tongue out

Not keeping it much longer then?
Or do you mean the power mods you are doing?
How does it affect insurance out of interest as first thing I was going to do was a miltek flex and a k&n 57i as is meant to be good for a 15bhp increase combined
Keeping it for now, would like to move out before the next car purchase! So just doing mods along the way but going to stop after the exhaust!
Well i think my insurance is about 100quid more a year with everything on it, would say it would go up by the same amount youll have to enquire! Good easy mods for better power though those two smile
